My experience has been great so far! Bryce is an awesome and motivating trainer and the personal close-knit feel of the gym and the commitment from the owners is exactly what I was looking for.Mar 28, 2017Verified
Been training with Ben for 6 months. Really good experience. Highly recommended if you need a experienced personal trainer.Jun 30, 2017Verified
Outstanding gym and high quality personal trainers!!! Not only is Barkes Fitness a Top Notch gym, but Ben and Amanda and their staff are excellent personal trainers. Ben responded to my request within minutes even though it was after 8 pm. He got me in next day for a consultation. During the consultation, he did a great job of explaining the responsibilities of a personal trainer and the responsibilities of myself. After listening to my goals, he laid out a few plans from which I could choose. Ben is honest and very straight forward as to what it takes, in his opinion from 30 years experience, to reach the goals I was looking for. Once we got started, Ben has followed through on all his responsibilities and pushes me to meet mine. The atmosphere of the gym is that of dedication, hard work, individuality, and they definitely create a gym family environment. They have pushed me to stay committed and in only a month, I am beginning to see results. I look forward to continuing my training and enjoy seeing the gym grow. I would highly recommend Barkes Fitness as a gym and as personal trainers!Feb 18, 2016Verified
Love what Ben and Amanda at Barkes Fitness have done for my emotional and physical well being. I'm on a journey for the first time in 20+ years that I'm proud of. If you want something more than a gym or bar code, this is the personal training you need!Feb 24, 2014
Their trainers were v nice and took time to understand what I was looking for and gave me a tour of their gym. I'm disabled so I require extra help when exercising. Unfortunately, their gym did not have any adaptive equipment so it wasn't a match. I would recommend them for regular physical training, though.Oct 3, 2019Verified
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am CONSTANTLY reading and talking with other trainers and leaders in out industry. This field is changing constantly and needs to be kept up on. I am always looking for the next certification as well!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I was living with a buddy who had never worked out before right after high school. I was working full time and let my personal workouts slack. So, I bought him a 6 month membership at the gym and had him go. He lost nearly 80lbs in that 6 months and I was hooked from then on! I knew my path was personal training!
- What types of customers have you worked with? Its not all just training. I write workouts, nutritional plans, and even do in a lack of better works counsel for them.
