FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing should NOT be the most important consideration for a piano teacher--ability to work well with each student at their level is so important. The teacher's experience, patience, and proven track record with helping students achieve their goals is more important than price. If you just want the cheapest teacher, I am not for you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually have a four-week trial period to make sure that we are a good match as far as lesson and learning style. I always email what we cover at each lesson, and students get an email reminder the day before each lesson. Each person learns differently, so each lesson is individualized to meet each person's needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my M.A. in Music from Butler University and over 30 years experience teaching music, both in the public school classroom grades K-8 as well as in my home piano studio. In the past, I have been on the board of the Indianapolis Piano Teachers Association. I also attend webinars on best and newest practices in piano teaching.
