ISA Euro helped to clear slow moving drains on the second floor of our home and re-caulk a shower. Vito was on-time, quick, professional, and very thorough. I will definitely use them for our next project.

Bradley is a great plumber. He was able to diagnose our issue over the phone! He gave detailed information about a situation he’d never even seen, swiftly evaluating the state of conditions in my sink — he is the real deal! After all that he was able to successful fix our drain issue. We’d absolutely hire Bradley again.

This is the second time Don has done work for me, The first time was a year ago when he fixed a leaky kitchen drain and this time he got rid of a nasty clog in the kitchen drain line. Both times he did excellent work. This time the job was particularly tricky, he had to cut the drain line in 2 places to get it routed out. He’s a problem solver, there is never any drama, he just gets the job done for the price he quotes. I’d never use anybody else for plumbing.

I could not be happier with picking D. H. Construction for our clogged kitchen sink issue! He came in and told me where the problem areas were and why it wasn’t draining. Then he proceeded to fix the issue and let me know how to prevent the sink from clogging again! I could not be happier and highly recommend him!

Brian LoPrestis responded immediately, made an appointment for a convenient time, and showed up precisely on-time. He assessed the job, got the parts and finished quickly. His price was very fair and, since he had to take the garbage disposal out, he included a rod out of the drain to assure it was open as a part of the job. We are extremely happy with his work

I had George install a new vanity/sink/faucet, toilet and a kitchen drain. All looks great and works perfectly. After I saw his work I had him replaced a sewer drain that needed a new seal and a clean out pipe. I will definitely use him again and recommend him. He is very professional and his prices are reasonable.

I had a sink which had an unusual type of drain that another plumber had a problem installing. Adan was able to install it very quickly, and he was very meticulous in how he installed it so that it looked perfect when he finished. He even came by the next day to make sure that it was working correctly. I highly recommend Adan as a conscientious hard worker who will do an excellent job. I would hire him again in a second!

Professional. Clean. Punctual. I had a leak in the ceiling on a property I was supposed to hand over the following day. J Roberts came through in a big way. Patched the ceiling and painted it. Within a few hours, it looked as though there was never a leak to begin with. I also had plumbing issue for which I hired a plumber. After the plumber left, I realized the drain they were working on had another leak (which the plumber saw but didn't think it was his problem to fix). J Roberts fixed it. He even went to the hardware store and grabbed a new drain for the kitchen sink and out it in. Highly recommended and would definitely hire again

Wow!!! What can I say, Tom and Harry are amazing. I called around because I needed my sewer line rodded and it was complety clogged, like an explosion of toilet paper and "ahem" you know everywhere. I called a few plumbers and they walked in the door and had standard prices. Long story short. 1st quote was $655 , 2nd quote $295. I used the second plumber and they were completely inexperienced and deceptive. They messed up the sewer gate valve and had to be called back out and they tried to charge me to complete the job they didn't complete and wrote the bill up for 450 instead of 295. Needless to say I went to Thumbtack to find another plumber and Tom responded immediately and we spoke a few times and said he'd stop by and look at it free of charge. Well he determined that he could do the job and the price to rod the line was great, they came over on Tuesday in the evening and started rodding with the electric eel, and reached roots and other things and the line was still clogged. They stayed until 9pm and came back the next day , they needed more line and came back finished the job the next day and got my sewer unclogged. Just wow, they went the extra mile and saw some other items that could use a quick repair and were more than reasonable. Hire Tom and Harry! They don't have a book with set prices like the big guys. Straight forward and very friendly. I was quoted absolutely ridiculous amounts for removal of the old sewer gate and back flow valve inside and install a new clean out in the yard. Tom quoted me a price I can't say no to!! We're scheduling this install in July or August. Give Tom a try, the level of workmanship, professionalism , quality , HONESTY, reliability are second to none. I wouldn't hesitate to call the guys that get it done. Trust me this is a real review, so happy I didn't need to take a mortgage out and get a second job to fix the issue. Thank you Tom and Harry.

I called Chicago Sewer Experts to unclog my sewer line. Joseph and Dave came out in a timely manner and in a short time the problem was fixed! They explained the process as they were doing it and kept me informed the entire time. They even cleaned up after themselves! They were personable and trustworthy and they will definitely be my go to plumbing/sewer company in the future. I highly recommend them.

Paul was responsive, prompt, and did an excellent job updating various fixtures throughout my home. He also took care of a clogged drain. I did my research prior, and Paul offered the most competitive price. I’d highly recommend his services!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

  • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
  • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
  • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
