We have the best cake you'll ever taste! Somewhere along the way, an important detail of wedding cakes has been lost: cakes are supposed to be dessert! Many places have become so concerned with the look of a cake that they don't realize it lacks -- sometimes glaringly -- in the taste department! At Cream Cake Co., we believe your cake should be a delicious dessert. Everything we sell is baked to order to prevent our products from sitting around getting stale. We bake from scratch and use only the best ingredients we can source: real butter, heavy cream, and fresh fruit. We never use mixes and we never freeze our products. We had no intention of offering the same old buttercream frosted cakes that every other bakery makes because buttercream frosting leaves a greasy, gritty film in your mouth that no one likes. Our crowning glory is our signature Sweet Cream Icing -- light, fluffy, and unbelievably addictive. There is nothing like it in Chicago -- trust us, we've looked! Another pet peeve of ours was the use of fondant on almost every high-end custom-designed cake. We absolutely and positively will not ever make you a cake that has any fondant on it! Fondant is a sugar dough that is draped over a cake to give it a perfectly smooth appearance. The problem is, fondant is a European product meant to go with European cakes that are far less sweet than our American cakes. On an American cake that is already frosted with an overly sweet buttercream, the addition of fondant makes the cake nearly inedible. In fact, before we made the decision to not use fondant, I took a class to learn how to work with it. The instructor told us to just tell our customers to scrape the fondant off when they are eating their cake! What!?!? Fondant adds a lot of cost to a wedding cake because the product itself is expensive and because it takes a fair amount of skill to get that perfectly smooth look. In keeping with our choice to use only fresh products, we will absolutely not cover your delicious cake with a product that comes in 50 pound blocks! So instead, we decided to use our skill to frost your cake perfectly smooth with our delicious Sweet Cream Icing. Sweet Cream Icing is quite possibly the best icing you'll ever taste. It's wonderfully delicate with a light creamy texture and just the right amount of sweetness. Sweet Cream Icing is the perfect complement to cakes and pastries, and after eating it, your mouth won't be coated in a layer of grease that will make you wish you brought your toothbrush!

I only take on one or two cakes at a time depending on how difficult or time consuming they are. This enables me to take my time and ensure the customer is getting the cake they want with out rushing to so it.

Let me set the stage for you: It was crunch time. I had an expected 60 or so guests to arrive at a work function. We didn't have much time to plan either. I knew that I wanted to have all different types of food. I knew I needed to have someone versatile in cooking techniques and was also able to do some sweets. In the past, I have done small catering orders through Marlo and it went beautifully. I called her to see if she could bail me out on such short notice (A week). Marlo saves the day again! She put my worries at ease by helping me create a menu to what I wanted for the event with all the specifications. I like to use her because she does Filipino, Spanish, American, and I bet she could do it all! To say the least, we were beyond impressed with the food was delicious and fresh. You can really tell she used quality ingredients. She arrived on time and promptly got to work on helping me set up the dishes to be serve-ready. I enjoy her creativeness and multifaceted skills in the culinary arts. It isnt just that her food and pastries are delicious; its that she puts her own twist into the mix to elevate otherwise ordinary food. We also ordered her desserts. I recommend you get the Mamon (Filipino Sponge Cake- She makes it individually wrapped) and Tiramisu! We also ordered decorated cake pops as giveaways (which were a hit!). The decadent flavor of the Mamon really shows her skill in baking as well. The pricing was below what I have paid for catering orders half of the size with others, which made expensing this order easy on my pocket. Her service was seamless from beginning to end. Marlo took a great deal of worry off my shoulders. She is professional and friendly. I enjoy her catering service and would recommend her to all my friends who have also had the same great service. I plan to continue to use her for any and all of my future catering needs. I couldn't be more grateful.
I prepare a variety of desserts for all events. I am a talented cake artist who prepares simple birthday cakes to tiered wedding cakes. I also do 2D and 3D cakes. I have the ability to do sculpted specialty cakes in buttercream and/or fondant. Remember, if it's not "D'Lish," it's not dessert!
