The pet sitters were understanding of our dogs individual needs. They also worked to meet our schedules.
Bella was a great cat sitter. She sent me updates every day that I was out of town, with pictures of the cats, to let me know they were all getting along well. Robin and Sally were very well looked after, and I am glad she was able to stay with them.
Lainey did such a great job taking care of my cat over the thanks giving weekend. It was my first trip away from him since we moved to illinois so I was nervous with a new pet sitter. My cat bonded to Lainey right away and she sent me daily updates. He was happy and healthy when I arrived home. I'm so happy to have found her!
SmartPaws is thee best! I found them here on Thumbtack and couldn't be happier. They made my first few days leaving my pup home alone much much easier. Thank you!
Very dependable pet sitter!
Hannah kept me updated about my 2 cats everyday she cared for them. She even sent me pics of them. I felt very secure leaving her in charge of my pets & home. Would be glad to hire her again. So glad there is such a great service.
Susan is an awesome pet sitter!!! She has been taking care of our cats for years. We never worry when we go out of town. Her veterinary experience is an added plus. If there ever is a problem, she will know what to do. You can tell she really cares about animals.
My experience as a pet sitter for "At Your Home Pet Sitting has been wonderful! The Biggest problem in having an extraordinary partner is that I will never be happy working for anyone else. Thanks, but you have really limited my career options because I have no other options but to follow you wherever you go. Thank You!!!
Sara watched my high-energy, high-strung Jack Russell rescue dog (Daisy Duke) twice this summer for two week-long vacations. She was recommended to me by a friend who has known Sara since middle school. I don't put my trust in many people, but Sara proved to be very deserving of it. Daisy was in great hands. Sara came and met with Daisy before the first in-house pet-sitting started. During the visit Sara played fetch with Daisy outside and the two got to know one another. During the pet-sitting week, Sara stayed overnight with Daisy and spent a lot of time playing with her. Daisy pees a lot, because she's a nervous dog, with some issues from her previous lilfe before we adopted her. Sara was patient and understanding. She also made sure Daisy was walked and exercised thoroughly. I HIGHLY recommend Sara. She's affordable, trust-worthy, and compassionate. I am a little doting, when it comes to my children (furry or human) and I appreciated the status texts from Sara letting me know how it went. After the visit I received a summary of how things went, whether Daisy ate well, and how much exercise and TLC she received. I loved this service. Sara also watered by small garden and I tipped her for that, since she did such a stellar job. What completely bowled me over was that Sara washed the bedding so that I didn't have to attend to the guest room, when I arrived home exhausted from our travels. Totally unexpected, but a really nice touch.
John has been our cat sitter for several years. He is reliable, respectful of our home, and wonderful with our cat! I can't say enough good things about him and his service.
Jay is extremely attentive to details. He takes time to study your personality and lifestyle and pairs you up with the dog that can fit into that personality and lifestyle. He is always available to help answer all my questions about the health of my dog and even other dog owners he has no relationship with. I have learned that when it comes to dogs, Jay is always right. My dog got missing one day due to my negligence, and he gave me steps on how I can make sure my dog finds her way home, and before and hour, my dog was barking in front of my door. Jay is an exceptional and professional dog whisperer and I would always recommend him.
a great pet sitter my pup loves her. always on time
I hired Cristiana to look after my dog, Pierre, while we went out of town for the weekend. The proof to us of Cristiana's great care was the excellent mood our dog was in when we returned. When we have taken him to be boarded, he at best grumpy upon our return and at worst sullen. When we returned home after the weekend Cristiana took care of him, he was our happy and ready to play. While out of town, we were happy to know that our home and pet were in trustworthy hands. We would happily use Cristiana's services again, and I know Pierre would be happy to see her!
I can say that our experience with Susan caring for our little Ginger (adopted pooch of 2 years), was truly awesome! From the first meet & greet there was a "love connection". Clearly Susan has a love for dogs as though they were her own. When I returned home from my trip after Susan cared for Ginger, it was quite obvious that she was well cared for and exercised properly. Each time Susan has helped us out while away, Ginger walks around the house looking for Susan once she leaves and whines a little as if she's lost her buddy. I would recommend Susan as a reliable and super friendly dog walker/pet sitter!!
Entrusting Mr. Barkypants, my first-born son, to a dog walker is akin to how I imagine it might feel to someday entrust a less furry child of mine to a nanny: He/She sure as hell better be committed, conscientious, able to survive blizzards*, and love Mr. Barkypants as his/her own. Using this (perhaps slightly unreasonable) standard, I interviewed many, many dog walkers before I found Walks With Zara Chicago Dog Wlalkers, a dog walking company that Russell and his business partner own and operate. Though I haven't yet had to put them to the blizzard test*, it is clear that Russell is an excellent dog walker and human being. I feel strongly about not having just any random person walk Mr. Barkypants: I've witnessed how some walkers who work at larger operations treat (or rather mistreat) the 5-10 dogs they walk at once. Sadly, it doesn't seem uncommon for some dog walkers, on the north-side at least, to roughly yank leashes or yell and scream at dogs, or to refuse to stop walking to allow one of their charges to use the little dog's room, or to tie dogs up to a post in the park while the walker enjoys a cigarette and long chat with his friends. I am confident that Russell does NOT do this; Mr. Barkypants would probably behave very differently with him than he does. Interestingly, though Mr. Barkypants isn't terribly fond of strangers and he is particularly non-fond of strangers who are male and who wear hats, he took to the hat-wearing Russell like he took to liver treats from the first or second walk on. Russell has a gentle, quiet, calm, non-domineering manner with dogs (and humans, really). He isn't embarrassed about speaking to dogs in goofy voices -- a talent I quite appreciate. Moreover, wrt his human dealings, too, Russell is prompt and as honest as Abe: He lets us know when he isn't able to walk a full hour (because of severe weather or sickness) and deducts from his pay despite our asking him to take the full amount. Rates, by the way, are extremely reasonable for Chicago dog walking, especially since Mr. Barkypants gets Russell all to himself on walks. According to their website, Russell is bonded and insured as a dog walker and is a member of the Association of pet sitters. I can speak with knowledge about Russell's excellent credentials as a dog walker. He *will* treat your dogs with respect and patience -- or at least I'm pretty sure they will based on how they've treated my first born son. I can't recommend him enough.

I'm a young teen eager to work, but since I'm not fully ready, might as well start small with something I love, that is pets of any, cats, dogs, reptiles, anything. I'm very careful with them. I respect them and their space. I love the outdoors. I enjoy playing catch and learning new things. Please contact me and we can see if I'm fit for your pet.
