About this pro
We had some challenges getting the work scheduled & rescheduled, but the work quality was excellent and the price was right. I’d definitely use Phil again.Jul 27, 2018Verified
We found Indy Arborist very reliable, reasonable, and easy to work with! Phil did an awesome job and delivered a quality & efficient job, as promised. We highly recommend this company!!Jul 4, 2018Verified
Phil, from IndyArborist.com Inc., was very responsive to completing my tree and bush trimming jobs this week rather than next week. He arrived the same day I first contacted him. He showed up with a large truck with a lift crane , wood chipper and assorted other tools. He was very knowledgeable and understood my requests quickly and accurately. We negotiated a price of $350 as being a reasonable price and he swiftly completed all the tasks mainly using a gas chainsaw and gas powered trimmer and the results were better than I expected. He cleaned up my yards completely and it all looks great. I definitely recommend IndyArborist for any trimming needs.Jun 23, 2018Verified
Phil had the best price we were quoted and promised to send over his certificate of insurance so we could move forward and we’ve called, emailed and texted for five days with no response. We’re assuming this means he’s not actually insured maybe? My dad really liked him and wanted to hire him and tried to reach him multiple ways, but no luck.Jun 2, 2018VerifiedJan W.'s reply
We went on vacation, I bid the job woth your dad then was asked to bid the neighbors job. The neighbor was very rude when I asked about a dead tree and whether she wanted to address that hazard and yelled at me about me being rude. I don't have to subject myself to that type of work, so I ignored you guys, sorry. I'm just 1 guy who cuts trees for cheaper than the other companies and sometimes I make the mistake of not calling to decline the job when feelings become involved, like a lady being mad at me for asking about a dead tree when she is having other dead trees removed next to it and its literally 10 to 15 minutes of work I would have given her for free. Sorry.
After indicating they could come out for review. And sending email to their web site in addition No reply Of any kind Respond. Good. Bad or ugly. But. Respond!!May 6, 2018VerifiedJan W.'s reply
Wanted an ash tree treated. It was too far gone for me to take on, and actually we are no longer accepting new ash trees for treatment. Decided to pass on explaining he had wasted his money. Sorry. My wife will be answering phones from now on.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We bid per job. Service can be purchased at a day rate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First we need to know the scope of the work. If it's a straight forward thing we can come out and give an estimate. If you would like to meet we offer free consultation as well as free estimate. This means if you want to know why a tree looks the way it does we can most likely pinpoint the issue and offer some courses of action. We deal in handshakes and verbal agreements. I don't need a contract to perform the work at your house and I don't need a court to settle any disagreements. We are fully insured professionals and can have you placed as a certificate holder via our insurance agent. Just let us know if you would like that for peace of mind.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Yes, we attend 3+ trade shows a year. 3+ training programs. Phil Whitten is highly regarded in the arborist market as one of the premier rope splicers in the world. He provides industry level training to tree climbers from all over the US and recently the UK.
