FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly learning! A professional is only as good as her willingness to learn, and to that I say also that every Yoda should have a Yoda--always work with people who are interested in learning, refining, honing, and mastering their crafts. I attend classes, go on retreats, read evidence-based literature, subscribe to news feeds, and relentlessly research topics of interest--especially those that my clients bring forward in response to their requests. For example, for one photo shoot, a client requested a Game of Thrones theme. Already a fan of the books and the show, I went into further research mode and co-created a sophisticated, artistic, GoT-authentic style for a bridal party.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
This sort of happened by synchronicity, as I have been doing makeup art and photography for years for friends and families, and then, word of mouth spread so quickly that I began doing work for friends-of-friends and family-of-friends-of-friends. Eventually, I was referred to start up a website so that people can find me and my work easily. And, here we are.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
What I love is the variability of my jobs! I have had so many types of jobs as a freelance artist/psychologist--from simple makeup for a prom, complete OH-MY-GOD-I'M-TURNING-30 styling, zombie wedding photography, engagement photography, on-location across the nation photography, baby photography and Senior Pictures...I select clients that I feel I am compatible with and that have an interesting story. I do not accept all jobs or submit quotes to all requests.
