Gary is a great leader, mentor, facilitator and speaker. He has taught me how to be more engaging with teammates - giving me very practical steps by which to communicate more effectively. His delivery style is both humorous and inspiring. I would recommend Gary to any one who wishes to burn even just one degree hotter in their area of leadership.

After the sudden death of my 28-year-old daughter a few weeks ago, I found myself completely lost for the first time in my life. There were so many decisions that had to be made at a time when I was least capable. My daughter Rachel was a kind and loving young woman who left behind a young son, nine adoring brothers and sisters, and a large circle of family and friends. Knowing that we needed healing through a meaningful release of emotion and grief - and we all needed to do it together - I had to find someone who would be gentle with our family and respectful of Rachel's memory. The proper someone needed to touch our hearts and help us pull through the darkest time of any of our lives. Stacey was that someone. She met with our family to understand what we needed. When we weren't certain, she asked questions that brought clarity and guided us with helpful suggestions. The eulogy that she prepared and delivered captured Rachel's essence perfectly. Stacey was strong and powerful for us when we needed it and quiet and loving when we cried. She was excellent with the twenty-somethings who were anguished in their grief and supportive and respectful of our senrior family members. She was appropriately present and at all times, she was attentive to our needs. Our huge multi-ethnic and multi-religion family felt comfort in Stacey's presence as we said our good-byes to our angel. I highly encourage anyone in the heartbreaking position of laying a loved one to rest, to place their trust in Stacey. She will make you feel at ease, and allow you to focus on yourself and your family, which is what you need during such a time.

I so enjoyed being a guest of NaKaisha Tolbert Banks for Spotlight Indiana, WIBC radio show yesterday. NaKaisha's assured presentation and perceptive interview style lead to an insightful conversation about mental health and suicide prevention. I highly recommend NaKaisha as an engaging public speaker with in depth knowledge in the field of mental health and wellness. Her sparkling and genuine personality makes her a terrific choice for leadership roles as well.

When I came to you, I was almost embarrassed to admit that I had some areas of my life that I needed help with. I guess I thought I should have it together more than I do, but now I look at it like you are helping me fine tune skills that are already there. And through being real with you and your belief in me, I feel so great to have you on this journey with me. I guess I thought of a life coach like a personal trainer, and the thought actually scared me. But I feel like a 1 year old that just learned to walk, I keep falling down and you keep encouraging me to get up, brush it off and keep trying. I thought you were going to tell me what I should work on, but thank you for listening so I could tell you what is important to me. And I appreciate the way you share from your life, your experiences and lessons. I can't believe how much I look forward to our time together. This seems so easy for you, that's why you are the amazing life coach that you are. Thank you!

I'm able to play the piano at a high level which unfortunately many voice teachers are not able to do; this allows my students to receive not only high level vocal technique training but a vocal coach-accompanist experience as well - all in the same lesson. I also have experience teaching every age and all levels of singing. I have singers who are rank beginners and singers who sing at the highest professional levels as opera and musical theatre professionals, and everything in between. I enjoy them all!

    What is a career coach?

If you’re interested in furthering your career and want expert help, a career coach is a smart solution. A career coach is a professional you hire to guide you during a job search or a career transition, or to help you improve and advance in your current position. A career coach analyzes your work situation and learns what your professional goals are. They then create a strategy to help you achieve your targets. Throughout the process they should provide objective feedback and guide you in approaching the process strategically. Here are some of the tools and tasks a career coach may assist you with:

    • Helping you build a strong resume that reflects your work history, potential, and skills
    • Coaching for interviews and strategies for solid answers built around your resume and the target job
    • Defining your career goals
    • Creating a plan for job searching
    • Improving networking strategies and skills
    • Developing strategies for negotiating raises or promotions
    • Assessing why you’re not getting where you want to go
    • Identifying new positions or career opportunities that fit your skills

    Why is career counseling important?

Career counseling can help you discover your career path, help you overcome challenges preventing you from finding happiness in your job, or help you learn more about career opportunities that are available to you. Career counselors are typically counselors who specialize in helping guide people into their best career choices. As professionals, they have typically completed a master’s degree in counseling with a focus on career counseling and bring a nuanced understanding of the emotional blocks that prevent someone from doing what they love or getting ahead in their current position. Here are some of the ways that career counseling can help:

    • Identify your skills and talents and how they correlate to different career paths
    • Educate you about the educational requirements for launching in various careers and what earnings can look like
    • Help you understand the kind of environment you want to work in, and which careers are best suited for that
    • See opportunities to transfer your existing skill set to other career areas
    • Help you identify causes of tension or unhappiness in your current career and how to overcome those difficulties
    • Help you create a game plan for moving forward
    • Provide a safe space for you to understand your feelings about career choices you’re making

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

A career coach provides one-on-one sessions to help you reach your career goals or overcome any challenges you’re having in your career path. The cost to have career coaching can vary based on factors such as the number of sessions you purchase at one time and the experience and rates of your counselor. Career counselors are typically professionals who have earned at least a master’s degree in their field. Based on their academic background, supplemental certifications they have received, and any postdoctoral work they have done, their rates may vary. Typically career counselors offer reduced rates when you sign on for their services on an ongoing basis. A typical price range for career counseling services (nationally) could be $75-$150 per session. Remember to always ask if the career counselor offers a complimentary introductory session. You want to make sure the relationship will be the right personality and counseling style fit to help launch your confidence and upcoming career changes.

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

When it’s time to take your career to the next level, it’s time to hire a career coach. The cost to have a career coach help you with your professional journey will vary based on how many sessions you require, the level of coaching you desire, and the rates of the coach as determined by their experience, expertise, education and training. On average, career coaching sessions can range from 60 to 120 minutes, depending on the professional and what your needs are. Career coaches in smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living will also typically have lower rates than those residing in large metro areas like New York, although most do offer remote coaching. Many coaches also offer a free introductory consultation, which gives you the opportunity to determine if their personality and coaching style are the right fit. It’s helpful to ask the coach about their relevant experience and get references from former clients. Depending on the professional, session rates could range anywhere from under $60 to well over $250 per session. Package discounts are a good way to commit to the relationship as well as get savings on services.

    What is a career counselor?

If you’re feeling lost in your career path, overwhelmed, in need of a job but confused as where to start, or ready for change but uncertain what you want, a career counselor is a good choice for you. A career counselor is typically a licensed professional who has earned a master’s degree in counseling — likely with an emphasis on career counseling. Each state has different licensing requirements for career counselors, so be sure to research before reaching out to a pro.

Due to their academic backgrounds, career counselors often have a more holistic and in-depth approach than a career coach. Career coaches are not regulated by states and also tend to be more business-focused — a good fit for those who know what they want but need help achieving it. On the other hand, a career counselor provides guidance and clarity around some of the more emotional aspects that job hunting and career movement entail. Career counselors meet with you in a series of one-on-one sessions. They assess your personality and learn what drives you. They get a detailed understanding of your work history and your hopes, and often work to help you discover any internal blocks preventing you from going where you want to go. Hiring a career counselor is appropriate at any time in your career, from recent graduate to executive-level management.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
