FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My fee is $100 for a 50 minute session. This is the same fee for both individuals and couples. If you are in need of greater financial consideration, feel free to inquire about sliding scale spots within my private practice.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? My therapy process is collaborative and client driven. I believe that you are the expert of your life, while I help with in facilitating change for clients. The first couple of sessions are meant for us to get to know and understand one another. After that, the therapeutic process looks different for every client. I'll collaborate with you to see where therapy goes from here. With children, I utilize play therapy techniques that help children to explore emotions and thoughts that they are unable to verbalize to parents and adults. Play therapy is an opportunity for children to build trust, reduce anxiety, and explore creative thinking and problem solving.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I received my B.S. in Psychology from Xavier University, and my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary. Previously, I worked at the VA Hospital in downtown Indianapolis at the Family Support Center with Veteran couples and families. During my internship with the Christian Theological Seminary Counseling center, I spent many hours working directly with children and families. I enjoy working with children between ages 7-13, as well as teenagers and young adults. I have been trained in the PAIRS curriculum with the VA Hospital, as well as the Gottman Level 1 Training that is utilized for couples therapy.
