I had Tony install an electric garage heater that I had purchased. He did a great job of understanding what I wanted to accomplish, and determining the best way to get the installation done. Tony was on time and charged a very fair price for the work performed. I would definitely use Tony again for other projects.

Courtney was very professional. He gave me written estimates and a contract. He kept to the time frame we discussed. He checked in with me about the weather, since this was an outside project. He power washed the house and deck, sanded the deck and painted it. Repaired and painted the mailbox. He is currently installing new deadbolts on my doors. He has done an excellent job and I am so happy to have found him. I will definitely use him in the future.

I had purchased two houses that needed major repairs and renovations from the roof to the ground. (Windows, doors, plumbing, replacing drywall, flooring, etc...) After receiving a variety of estimates from numerous companies, Myers Construction was the one! Not only was his price reasonable, his service was amazingly fast, friendly, and very trustworthy. Steve’s communication has been outstanding, He has been updating me with daily calls and pictures. I had been surprised with the final results it all looks like a brand new house. Both properties had a deadline and Steve was able to complete it on time. Highly recommended!!

Brandon impressed me from our initial conversation. He knows his business. I have dealt with several contractors through the years but nobody can touch this guy. He kept me informed throughout the entire process. He showed me the materials he would use and how he would use them.He warranties his work for 7 years.Brandon is the consumate proffesional.I have ben fighting to get the repairs Brandon did completed for 12years and spent thousands of dollars. Some of the contractors couldn't even find the problem much less fix it. Brandon found the problem in minutes and fixed it in a matter of hours.I could go on and on about Matlock Construction and Roofing. I have several more projects planned and Brandon is who I'm calling. And believe me, this review is for real. Brandon is this good.

Mr. Stensen has done several jobs for us. Lately he has repaired a deck that was deteriorating, fixed a leakey faucet, and installed an outdoor electrical outlet. He is always careful and thorough. We are very happy with his work.

my water heater is upstairs in my house and went out 3 times and ruined the ceiling below every time. Getting it repaired has been pricey. Well he came up with a design to solve that problem (replace squares vs the entire ceiling and i have access to plumbing and electrical if I ever need.) and my home has a custom look as well. awesome work, and the price was more reasonable than what I had in mind. I definitely will use this company for any future projects of mine!!

I would definitely recommend Russ's work. He always works in whatever I need very quickly and quality work. So far, I have had my roof replaced, garage door and opener installed, dry wall work, kitchen cabinets replaced, ice maker line ran, bathroom exhaust fan installed and several other misc. handyman jobs. Trustworthy and beat the other quotes from other providers for job's quoted.

We had them work on a variety of things...replacing rotten wood, replacing doors and installing steps for a shed, replacing the frame and a door on the garage and repairing a portion of the roof to eliminate a leak (three others had tried and failed) to name a few. We could not be happier with their work and they were friendly and professional too. No doubt we will be contacting them for future work. Highly recommended...they're good people.

I cannot recommend this contractor enough...When we were renovating our kitchen in June, he installed our window..It was very difficult, due to the age of this home and it's construction..It was very nicely done...Then recently we had a roof leak into our kitchen...I called Lupe and he was here within 2 hours...It turns out that we had extensive wind damage and needed a whole new roof...His work is second to none and our roof is lovely...I'm not a photographer, but will include some pictures...

After years of coating my parent’s mobile home the coating was thick and cracking causing the roof to leak. We needed a solution and Done Right Roofing and Restoration provided that. With their high quality customer service and the free estimate that we received made our choice easy. Done Right installed a rubber roof for my parent’s home and did an exceptional job. Their installation crew showed up early and worked late in order to make sure that the roof would be completed. We believe we made the right choice because we wanted this roof to be done right and they made sure it was. To top it off they provide a twenty five year warranty that you do not receive with other companies. I would recommend Done Right to anyone.

I had cement board siding put on my home. Maximus also installed a roof and gutter covers a few years ago. Both jobs were executed quickly and excellently. I would not hesitate to use them again.

We manufacture and install our own 24-gauge steel. We have 5 different profiles or metal and a variety of colors. We have two finishes for the metal which will cause it to last two lifetimes! Is that enough for you?

About

Is it time to start planning about replacing that old roof? Are you missing some shingles, or have some dark patches? Are streaks starting to appear, or maybe you've already got a leaky roof? Even if your current roof is just deteriorated, now is the time to contact us about a permanent metal roof. A roof is one of those necessities that most people just don't think that much about. Most people just decide to replace it with what they have on it already if they need a new one. But wait, that does not make sense, does it? Why would they want to replace the old roof with the same type of roof that already gave them problems, or looks stained and faded? That existing roof, obviously, didn't hold up properly, and they will just have to replace it again in a few years if they replace it now with the same kind of shingle roof they already have. Did you know that there is a better way? You can change your roof with a new permanent roof, and never have to mess with your roof again. I want to encourage you to try the possibility of a new permanent roof.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
