Miike has been an elite personal trainer. His workout routines are spot-on and very beneficial for what I want to accomplish. Great at changing routines on the spur of the moment when needed. Gives awesome training tips for between sessions. Also, since he runs marathons, has running advice.
Outstanding gym and high quality personal trainers!!! Not only is Barkes Fitness a Top Notch gym, but Ben and Amanda and their staff are excellent personal trainers. Ben responded to my request within minutes even though it was after 8 pm. He got me in next day for a consultation. During the consultation, he did a great job of explaining the responsibilities of a personal trainer and the responsibilities of myself. After listening to my goals, he laid out a few plans from which I could choose. Ben is honest and very straight forward as to what it takes, in his opinion from 30 years experience, to reach the goals I was looking for. Once we got started, Ben has followed through on all his responsibilities and pushes me to meet mine. The atmosphere of the gym is that of dedication, hard work, individuality, and they definitely create a gym family environment. They have pushed me to stay committed and in only a month, I am beginning to see results. I look forward to continuing my training and enjoy seeing the gym grow. I would highly recommend Barkes Fitness as a gym and as personal trainers!
Working with Rich has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. He started off as my personal trainer back in 2011 and I've stuck with him ever since! When he contacted me to see if I'd be interested in his BCC class, I HAD to join. Rich not only guides and coaches you to your goals, but he also CARES! not many trainers do.. He knows when to push you, gives advice on things to do at home like certain stretches if you're sore, he knows nutrition, and he knows how to have FUN during class. If anyone is interested in becomming a client of Rich, I recommend him with such great appreciation. He won't let you down. You'll see a better you. Trust me! Hope to see some new faces pretty soon!!
Bob has been my personal trainer for more than 10 years. Although I do most of my workouts independently, Bob is the one who designs and/or modifies my exercise routines. He is not only extremely knowledgeable about which routines are appropriate for specific results, but also has an extensive understanding of the medical underpinnings of what those routines do. I am 78 years old and I credit Bob for helping me be able to actively participate in my love of white-water kayaking, downhill skiing, and powered paragliding.

When I initially began my search for a personal trainer I wasn't really sure what I wanted. I just knew I needed to make a change. Jack reached out to me after I created a post on Thumbtack looking for trainers in my area. He was very up front about his background and expertise, which is something I value in a professional trainer. We had an initial appointment to discuss my options and he was willing to work with my schedule as well as offer affordable payments. Jack has given me numerous tools to be successful on this weight loss journey. We started with a guide for better eating, which has been a fantastic improvement in my life, because I knew I needed to eat healthier, but I wasn't sure what foods would ultimately be best for me. Currently, we train together two days a week, and Jack provides me with workouts and training guidelines to be successful outside of our sessions. I am usually able to get to the gym 3-4 times during the days we don't train, which has been a fantastic change in my lifestyle. I used to be afraid to go to the gym by myself, because I had no clue what I was doing. I feel like I have a great foundation now, which has ultimately provided me with the internal motivation to lead a healthier lifestyle. Overall, the beginning of this journey has been a fantastic experience. I'm able to do more physically than I ever have before, and I'm motivated to put in the time and effort to be able to do so. The sessions are difficult, but I always feel encouraged by Jack to push myself harder and I never feel uncomfortable doing it. With Jack's help, I've managed to lose about 20 lbs in almost two months, which is something I didn't even think was possible. I could barely do a push up when we started, and I'm lifting weights and running miles at a time now. I'm looking forward to continue working with Jack to see the progress I'll make in a few more months.

My training with Neil is not only amazing but it's dedication. If you ever need to get back in shape or you ever need to build some muscle Neil is the person you should go to. He never made me feel like I needed to give up because he was there to not only give me support but he gave me his effort to help me out. It can be difficult once you start but it's all worth it at the end. Amazing trainer! Always motivated and ready to work. Yates has helped me lose 60 lbs so I could join the service (navy). He helped bring me from barely being able to finish a mile to running an 8 minute mile. All this in just around 5 months. Very professional, friendly, and he will push you to your limits but not break you! I also never experienced any problems with Yates that I have had with a few other trainers I had tried to work with before him.losing my weight wasn't easy by any means but I don't think I could have done it without his help. Can't go wrong here, I'd recommend this guy to anyone
