- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing varies per project but I generally charge $50 per hour for in-home consultations and personal shopping. Don't worry! I am pretty fast. If we are starting a space from scratch the process is usually as follows. I begin by meeting my clients in their homes to address the area needing attention (this usually takes 1-2 hours). It usually takes no more than a few more hours to come up with an idea board for a room. Then we will go over the final selections and I can create a purchase list for you (which will include furniture, a rug, finishes, and big accessories). During the last stage of the process I shop for the remaining accessories and stage the final look of your room.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am in the process of becoming NCIDQ certified. I mostly keep myself updated with trends through the use of the internet, Designer Trade Source, magazines, etc.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been creative. As a child I would rearrange the furniture in our house, redecorate bookcases, and save my money to purchase fabrics for pillows, etc...
