- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We accept cases on a no-recovery/no-fee (contingency) basis, where we advance the case expenses and our fee is a percentage of the gross damages recovered. If you make a recovery in your case, expenses are deducted after our fee is calculated. If you do not make a recovery in your case, you do not owe us anything. All of this and our respective obligations are spelled out in a writing signed by the attorney and client, which allows for us to undertake representation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We are typically hired after customers have called and spoken with us free of charge. We provide a free consultation for the injury and the families of those who have suffered a wrongful death. Sometimes our prospective clients will have already gathered records. Other times, we may ask that they gather records for our review before undertaking representation. If they don't have their records, we can help them go about getting them. Many of our clients are comfortable with us undertaking representation remotely, as we provide the option for a virtual meeting via Zoom and electronic signatures. We prefer to meet with our clients in person, but understand this is not always practical, especially in today's world. Once we receive signatures on the fee agreement and necessary paperwork, we begin our work on the case.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are law school graduates with more than 30 years of experience handling personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases. Todd has handled a variety of cases as a insurance and business defense attorney prior to deciding to work only for the injury in 2010, so he is familiar with how the other side may approach the case. Jonathan has worked for two of Indiana's largest injury law firms. They both participate in continuing legal education, present at seminars, and contribute regularly to the firm's law blog.
