Yreva Guitar (Mark) was very quick to respond to my request for guitar lessons here on thumbtack. He was quick to respond to my request for a first lesson. I have to admit that I was nervous about sitting down and taking lessons, mostly out of fear of being judged. Mark made me feel very welcome and provided a calm studio space to focus during our sessions. Mark is very understanding and willing to work with my every changing schedules. He is very patient during sessions and always provides encouragement. Great guy all around. Thank you Mark.
I came to Gareth for electric bass lessons after being away from the instrument for about a decade. He quickly gauged where I was with regard to technique and then quizzed me a bit on music theory. After determining my level as a player, he suggested a course of study that would expand on my strengths and shore up my weaknesses. His assignments were neither too cumbersome nor lightweight. Plenty to chew on each week. He's a very bright fellow with loads of knowledge and experience ready to share with the student. I would recommend him to anybody wanting to learn the bass or take their playing to the next level.
We aren't meeting until July because of my schedule not hers. She's been great to work with and get a date scheduled. I'm looking forward to my daughter taking piano and voice lessons with her. I couldn't be more thrilled. She responds quickly. Such an answer to our prayers for my daughter.
I worked with Mike for nearly 5 years at our local music store, both of us giving guitar lessons. He actually taught me how to do guitar harmonies, and vocal harmonies when we both had some down time. He's a very good teacher and a Hell of a musician.
I took voice and piano lessons from David for a period of about three years and always found him to be encouraging, reliable, and meticulous in his work, not to mention the fact that he is an absolute expert in his field as well as an outstanding performer. He meets you at your individual level and helps you select music that challenges you to grow as a musician even as it suits your ability at the time. He then pinpoints areas where you could improve, giving you helpful feedback and personal exercises tailored to addressing those areas where you could become better. He also gives you valuable coaching on all aspects of performance, including tips on your carriage, how to show emotion, and phrasing the music to name a few. I would enthusiastically recommend taking lessons from him whether you are interested in recreational lessons or becoming a professional performer. He will inspire you to reach beyond what you thought you'd be able to do and help you to reach your goals.
Stephen is great to work with. He was willing to walk me through buying a guitar and amp to get started. Super excited for my lessons!
I am a guitar/voice student with Bart at Reno's and he's great! I call him "The Song Doctor" because he revives songs I bring in with technique and great ideas! He is an amazing guitarist and patient teacher, even when I struggle. He knows music theory well and can teach this knowledge in an understandable and interesting way. Lessons are fun and non intimidating. Reno's Music is cool and I always feel welcome.
After choosing Clayton, I knew he would be a great teacher. Since I am a beginner, he has worked with me at a really slow pace--but I still feel like I learn something new during each lesson. I have improved a lot already and I know it's because Clayton is a great teacher. He knows a lot about guitars and guitar playing, I'm really glad I picked him!
My granddaughters have been receiving piano and voice lessons for several years. They continually improve and love it! The enjoy participating in the plays and showcases and the family always has a great time when attending the extra activities, also.
Sabrina is teaching piano to my Kindergarten-aged twins. She is great with young kids and their parents. She's very flexible with her teaching, willing to adapt to the style that fits them best. The lessons have included a conga drum to learn keeping time, as well as opening up the piano to show how the inside works. The learning environment in her home is very relaxing, and helps to calm my very energetic boys. When my boys do get distracted, she can effectively rein them back in or use their curiosity as a teachable moment when appropriate.
He was very accommodating with my schedule and was able to follow along with his lesson plans. Very responsive as well when I entered in my request.

I'm a guitar teacher that actually plays live music and has performed in the studio, and knows how to write and cover music. At just 21 years of age, I may seem young to be a guitar teaching professional, but I spent my youth studying the instrument, and I also bring a lot of energy into teaching which is crucial for staying positive in the learning process!
I have actively been a part of the Lafayette community -- that is, in the musical department. I participated in Honors Choir and band at Faith Christian School, accompanied soloists for ISSMA as well as for the Bach Chorale Children's summer camp, and have studied privately for over 12 years. I was accepted into the music program at the private University of Indianapolis for music education and enjoyed my time there but am now working towards a management degree at the School of Krannert at Purdue University. Playing piano and singing have always been passions and hobbies of mine, so I would love to try teaching privately again.
I feel that my welcoming personality and enthusiasm for sharing what I know are two things that set me apart from others.
