These guys were super great in many areas. They were responsive and they were very nice. Brian was awesome. My groom decided to add an impromptu song to the wedding and Brian was great in making it happen. A few odd things -- Simona was always the one that I was in touch with and was running through things with me beforehand, but was not at our wedding. Super weird when she told me over and over again how she would be there to help move things along. There was also definitely a lack of professionalism at times. I was asked for advanced payment (2 weeks earlier than deadline) on our contract. (we also booked them almost a year in advance and they wanted us paid up within 2 months, which was alarming to me)

If you need a DJ for ANYTHING, you MUST check out what CR Entertainment! This was my first time using thumbtack and I was a little skeptical at first, but CR Entertainment was the DJ for our wedding reception and he was the star of the show. I can’t even begin to count how many complements we got on how interactive Charles was with our guests! THE MAGIC WILL BLOW YOUR MIND - kids AND adults both loved it! The music selection was exactly what we requested and fit the mood to a ‘T’. There was a good mix of genres; some newer songs and some oldies! I could go on and on but moral of this review is, if you book CR Entertainment, you will NOT be disappointed!

He did our wedding. Got my cupcakes and cake. Met him all was awesome. Day of wedding not due to him but the cupcakes he wasn't there at time I wanted. I was stressed. But everyone at the wedding enjoyed. He is definitely an entertainer and enjoys what he does. I would recommend and use him again. We are planning a yearly gig out on the farm we will use him and his awesome cupcake lady Tea!

Cory took photos of my wedding. She took pictures while I was getting ready and while the groom and his friends were getting ready. She took pictures during the wedding, after the wedding, during the reception, and after the reception. She did portraits as well as action shots. She did this all on her own. She was very calm through all the chaos and captured every important moment. She even got silly moments captured without missing a beat. Her editing skills are great and she had the photos back in a reasonable amount of time. I even lost the cd of my pictures and she responded quickly with a backup. If there was any criticism I could give I would say she should find a partner who shares the same vision to have helped her capture double the pictures.

After seeing some of Aaron's work, I approached him about doing my wedding pictures. He gave us exactly what we wanted and took not only great staged pictures, but captured the entire feeling of the wedding with the candid pictures he took. He captured great moments with our friends and family we can cherish forever.

K & S Main Street Music helped DJ my wedding and I couldn't have had more fun. My husband is in the military so our wedding was very last minute and we didn't even have a DJ until 2 days before the event. They're very reasonably priced, are so nice to work with and agreed to help out even if it was so last minute. They also helped out immensely with the ceremony music as well. They made sure our music choices were there and set up to play the way we wanted them. If you're looking for a DJ for your next event I would highly recommend hiring K & S!

We absolutely loved using RAVEL! Our pictures were nothing short of spectacular and their level of professionalism made us feel very confident that they would capture everything on our wedding day (and they did just that!) Neither myself or my fiance had ever had our pictures taken professionally and so we were nervous how we would look. Our photographer: Brendan, had a way about him to make us feel comfortable. He was charismatic, gave us direction and took pictures we never thought were possible! (Did I mention we are not photogenic?) If you are looking for a photographer that can get great images even with unexperienced couples, I would highly recommend Brendan of RAVEL photography!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.
