Julio and Ray were awesome. I had a difficult situation with other movers after they did not show up on time. and they were great at helping me out at the last minute. They were super hardworking and fast and I was impressed by how quickly they were able to move everything down my stairs. They also had a difficult situation with the freight elevator because my building I was moving into was going to close the freight elevator before they were done, but they improvised and got everything up super quickly. They were very kind and super efficient. I don't know what I would have done without their help!!!!! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
We hired this service to move a large sectional sofa and a very heavy coffee table from one house to another. The 2 men were professional, courteous, and completed the job without any damage to the furniture and within the 2 hours they proposed, so they came in on-budget. I would definitely hire this service again.
Overall, great experience. Guys arrived early, did a great job loading the truck and were very professional. My only knock on the entire experience was that they took a while. We were hoping to stay below a certain price point and it ended up going 2 hrs longer than expected, which meant we went over budget. It was a hot day, and we were moving out of a high-rise, so certainly plenty of reasons to take a while, but it took longer than expected.
They were on time, incredibly fast and really nice guys. They even helped move some furniture out of the place we were moving into before moving our stuff in. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for movers!

Alliance was the best moving experience, from the first phone call to the final handshake. I found them using Thumbtack, and within the first hour of submitting my request, I was contacted by Phyllis to schedule an on-site estimation. We scheduled a date and time that worked, and on that date, right on time, they showed up and gave me a very thorough in-person review of everything I'd need packed and shipped. They were the only moving company who came out for an in-person estimate (others either just wanted a list of things, or did a "virtual" estimate, but Alliance went that extra miles to really see for themselves what we needed to move, helping us feel confident we were on the same page for the quote.) We had a special situation that would spread our move out over several days, requiring us to store items on their truck (essentially locking up one of their trucks for a couple nights, preventing them from using it) and they offered me a very reasonable quote for all the services, including storage. We called no fewer than 6 other moving companies, and despite other companies having more "word of mouth" recommendations from friends, nobody was able to meet or beat Alliance's service and quote - and this was even BEFORE any actual moving started. We just felt the most comfortable and cared for with Alliance, so we went with them. Absolutely no regrets - they made what was a stressful move into a breeze. The team came in, packed up everything that was odd-shaped like lamps and mirrors, and were very careful with my already-packed delicate items and breakable kitchen stuff. They had our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom (3rd floor WALKUP) condo cleared out within 4 hours, and with smiles on all of their faces. They even were so sweet to our two dogs; I even loved the shirts they wore that said "If your dog doesn't like someone, maybe you shouldn't either" or something like that - well, our dogs were very comfortable with them despite the stressful situation of strangers taking away all of their stuff! That's how you know they're good guys :) Two days later, they rolled up again, and had our new house moved in within 3 hours again. The final bill came in under-budget and 100% perfect - nothing scratched, broken, or damaged. I would recommend Alliance to anyone looking for movers who care, who really focus on customer service from start to finish, and who really go that extra mile to make your move less stressful. Let's face it, moving sucks, but Alliance is the best at making it an actually pleasant experience. Thank you Alliance!
I hired New Beginnings to move my mom from an apartment to a house in the same city. Jamaal and his staff did an outstanding job. We originally scheduled the move for 1:00 pm, but they were able to come earlier which was great. They were very professional, courteous, and overall pleasant to work with. The amount they charged was slightly less than what they quoted, so that was a bonus too, especially when you're on a tight budget. I would highly recommend New Beginnings for your moving needs.

I wish there was an option to give a 10 star rating! Earlier this year, I had a horrible experience with M&M Movers who were late, ill-prepared, broke a beautiful piece of furniture because it wasn't wrapped, and then only wanted to give $200 to fix it when the cost to fix was over $3000...and the movers loved to tell us how terrible their day had been. It was a simply awful experience. So I was extremely nervous when I had to hire movers again. Now, I will have Chicagoland Moving & Storage on speed-dial for ANYONE looking to move. They were fantastic in every way. They contacted me quickly. They were able to work with my limited schedule. They came to assess what needed moving to plan accordingly. Their movers were 15 minutes early, simply delightful, were quick but completely thorough. It was the most amazing experience. They were great. We had a hicup in moving on a weekend and had to reschedule and Joe was completely accommodating. On the day of moving Joe and another mover were on time and even helped pick up the u-haul. We had about 15 medium and heavy duty boxes along with some basic furniture and they helped load everything in 45 mins and was done very carefully. I would definitely recommend these guys for accommodating us even 1 day before we moved and being super easy to work with.
They handled all of or pre-packed boxes and all our furniture with care. We have some exspensive pieces and had a negative experience with a previous move/moving company, so it was refreshing to have a good experience. There was great communication throughout, and did an excellent job fitting everything into our storage unit. The only problem, was we planned to pay by credit card. We were told by the office that was fine a few days in advance, and that there would be a 3% charge, which we were ok with. The head mover told us this was fine when he arrived, then proceeded to have us fill out the paperwork. At the end of the move he then came to us and said he couldn't get ahold of the office and we'd have to pay by cash. He said if we didn't pay by cash we'd have to wait endlessly to hear back from the office. We didn't believe what he was saying, but obliged because we were on a time constraint. We felt a little scammed and are now unsure if we will use them again when we complete the second part of our move this summer. We'd probably require written communication from them, that we will exclusively pay by card and there will not be any other options the day of.
I sent a request at 4:00 pm, I live in Texas and needed my rental apartment clean in Chicago for clients that were moving the next morning. I received a call within 5 minutes of the request. And she was able to go that same day at 7:00pm. I should mention that I hired a contractor to do what should have been a 2 day job that turned into a 5 day nightmare. The apartment was cleaned prior to his arrival but you could not tell it when you opened the door. Saw dust and sheetrock dust, was everywhere. I panicked and for the heck of it I turned to my friend Google, finder of all things. I cannot say enough about the responsiveness or the amazing job, I sent my sister a interior designer to check the work and pay for the woek. My sister has a little ADHD well a lot and she was blown away when she saw the place after it was cleaned. The apartment was completely cleaned and smelling wonderful. She was great, and the work was the best I have seen in years. I have people clean for me all over the US as a property manager and owner, and if I could I would move her to Texas...if you want it done right call JD Edwards cleaning services, and to top it off it was super affordable. I would recommend Pick Up Movers to anyone intending to move and working on a budget. From a personal experience, these guys are the best the market can offer. My experience with them was positive right from when I first contacted them asking for a quote for moving my house stuff from Illinois to Tennessee. There were no hidden costs and Frank, the customer assistant was so open to any further queries. This made me feel needed as a client and more assured that I was dealing with the right company.
Nice movers, on time, efficient, worked there butts off on one of the hottest days of the summer, up and down multiple flights of stairs for 2.5 hours and never once complained and or asked for a break. I had to remind them to take a break. Highly recommend their services if you have to move fast one a budget. The only thing they didn't offer were moving supplies and a truck.
Home Matters did a GREAT job on our move in clean as well as carpets! The house was empty, but the cleaning was thorough and looked great. The carpet cleaner however was the icing on the cake- Aaron was our guy and he worked very hard, he was there for a longer than expected time and did a tremendous job, we were very satisfied, we have recommended them already to our parents who will be in the process of moving in the next couple years.
They were ready to be flexible depending on our needs. We only had 1 hour job of moving. And, they were nice enough to charge only for one hour. Every other movers we called in the area were charging minimum 3 hours even for 1 hour job. They were also available to do the work right away in an hour. They worked perfect for us, since our need was urgent. I would recommend them.
Melanie provide detailed "move-out" cleaning services for my apartment. She took great care in scrubbing counters, cabinets, walls, appliances. She swept and mopped floors, clear away cobwebs, cleaned underneath the refrigerator, as well as inside and outside (the top, too!). She even wiped down the window sills. She was prompt, professional, and pleasant and brought her own extra lighting, as my furniture lamps had already been moved to the new apartment. Due to her conscientious efforts, my deposit was fully and promptly refunded. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
J. C. Movers helped us twice. The first time was for moving across the country, they loaded our U-Haul truck and drove it to our new home about 1200 miles away. We trusted the driver with a key to the back of the truck just in case some items shifted during the trip. They did a wonderful job, everything was loaded properly, everything arrived safely, nothing was damaged. We were kept informed of the location of the truck by cell phone. The second time was to remove all items our basement and garage from our old house that was unoccupied. Once again we trusted them with the keys to the house. There was 8 years of clutter, old furniture and plan old junk. They did the job promptly, the day after I called which exceeded my expectations. They kept me informed via text messages, phone calls and photos sent via Smart Phone. It was just like I was there but I didn't need to be. Nothing was damaged, the house and garage were left broom clean as I requested. The whole process was so easy and not stressful at all. I worked in customer service 32 years and I highly recommend them.
Jay and Will did a great job of helping out with two separate jobs, both moving furniture. Jay was flexible to how we setup the move and was experienced enough to know the best way to approach moving the different pieces. Would definitely work with him again.
