Found Tim on thumtack. After getting appointment set, I had to leave town for a couple of weeks. That did not effect Tim's stride, He stayed in touch letting me know he was ready when I was. He assisted us in finding a truck at a reasonable price. On the day he was early and I was late, again it did not break his stride. We were moving a 10x15 storage unit of loosely stacked articles to a 10x10 unit at a more reasonably priced storage facility. Again that did not brake his stride. He with one helper, that he left in his dust at getting the stuff stacked. He stacked the boxes tight and there was know problem getting the articles in the unit. He treats your articles as his. Tim is personable, professional, efficient and affordable. In fact at this time I have scheduled him to take the boxes out of the unit for me to look for some important papers and later in the day return and replace it in the unit. I trust Tim with all my moving needs. He also does several other jobs including drywall and furniture assembling. Thanks to Tim, be using you again. If you don't use Time for you needed services, big mistake.

I hired Antonio, of Renaissance Restoration, to do several projects. They included: 1) rebuilding the curb in my shower that was installed improperly by a different contractor; 2) Finishing a half-bath remodel that included refinishing and painting the drywall after they had be damaged from wallpaper removal, installing a vanity including plumbing and trim; 3) Repairing water-damaged hardwood floors and refinishing hardwood floors in the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, hall and stairway; 4) Expanding the kitchen entrance by 2 inches, repairing and refinishing the drywall and wood floor. I was at first skeptical to hire one person to complete all these tasks due to the variety of skills required. Fortunately, Antonio had all the skills necessary to complete the job expertly and timely. His attention to detail and vast experience with carpentry and contracting work in general proved to be invaluable. The end result of each project was even better than I had expected. Needless to say I would hire Antonio again for my next project.

One word......PROFESSIONAL. Valle Remodeling is an excellent company that is all about performance for the customer. They built the main addition to my home and then gutted/remodeled the existing structure on Capitol Hill. They did a beautiful job! They were always on time, ready to work, on schedule and on budget. Communication is good, always working together to solve problems to meet the needs of the customer and to get the job done right. I highly recommend Manuel and his company Valle Remodeling!

Sam first traveled to my home to review my work request and give me an estimate. I hired Sam to install a chandelier in my dining room, shelves in the laundry room, peg board in my garage, 2 ceiling lights in a walk in closet, window blinds, caulk 2 bath tubs, curtain rods, grab bar in bath tub and repair a ceiling fan. Sam was punctual, took care to protect areas he was working in and completed all work in a timely and professional manner. Sam takes pride in his work and it shows in the end results. The cost was very reasonable and I highly recommend Sam and will hire him for projects in the future.

The gentlemen came in and went right to work. I had a book shelf that needed to be put together. I certainly wasn't going to do it although I had all the material and the tools. Trench accepted the job at a reasonable price and more importantly, they completed the job in a reasonable amount of time.

Although I was not able to use kgm, the communicating was phenomenal. I really appreciated his prompt response to my request. Unfortunately I had a fire at my house, but I will keep kgm on mind and reconvene then to others.

To quote George Steinbrenner about George on Seinfeld, "Hire This Man". Matt is the best contractor we have worked with. We had a very ugly white tile kitchen floor and Matt came in to provide an estimate. We bought the supplies, which he picked up for us, and he quoted us the labor cost, which was extremely reasonable for 6 days of work. Matt showed up on time each day, even coming over on a Sunday for a few hours. He was very transparent in what he was going to be completing each day and met the objective each time. He is very friendly (even stopping to pet our dogs who bothered him a few times) and personable. He even told us that we still had a few extra items left over and returned them to the store for to get us a refund. I feel like most contractors wouldn't tell you if you have left over supplies, but not him! When he was done with the project, he cleaned up everything, wiping down anything that may have gotten dirty as a result. He is very careful, laying out plastic protectors so dust didn't settle on our counter tops. I normally don't shell out 5 star reviews, but Matt is very deserving. He will be our go to when we get the bathroom floors redone in the near future!

Description Of Work: Two glass doors hung on an IKEA Billy bookshelf; large wardrobe assembled consisting of two cabinets and sliding doors. I contacted Philip to put together a very large (78x92) wardrobe in our master bedroom. He responded quickly and asked a couple of follow up questions such as type of doors and any accessories, so he could provide me with an accurate quote. Since our wardrobe is actually two cabinets together, the price came out to be $160. I also asked him if he could install doors on one of our IKEA bookshelves, which was an extra $30. I contacted a couple of people about this work and Philip was the most responsive and professional. He was easy to reach by e-mail and provided me with his cell phone number as well. I had to change the time of our appointment the night before due to a scheduling conflict and Philip was able to work with me - all right after he had left me a voice mail confirming the details. I came home today to evenly hung IKEA doors on our bookshelf and an amazing wardrobe. The only mess - the boxes for us to recycle. I cannot wait to work with him again. Additional Questions Answered when completing this report How much did the final cost compare to the original estimate? right on How does the value of the work compare to the price? I got more than my money's worth How far in advance did you schedule the work? within a week Have you used this company before? this is the first time I've used this company What did you like most about this contractor? His responsiveness and flexibility What surprises came up during the course of the work? On our end, we had to change the appointment at the last minute. Philip was great about moving our time back.

I don't write many reviews, but I wanted to go out of my way to make sure to to write a detailed one for Yosif and Smart House Remodeling. I think I am uniquely qualified to give a very thorough review, as I hired Yosif and his team to do a basement renovation covering over 1,400 square feet. This was a big job, and below you can see some of the before and after photos from a few of the rooms. I'm a pretty particular client; I'm an engineer and pay attention to the details and quality of work that I get done and was very pleased with the outcome on this. I hired Yosif after getting approximately 8 (!) different bids for this job. So that shows you what he was up against. I think the typical experience with working with Yosif is likely as follows: you have him out for an estimate, he has some good ideas about the work that you may have not considered, he gives you a prompt estimate with very reasonable prices, and then you hire him to start the job. Once work is well underway, you realize you've got something really great going and then start creating new contracts to do all kinds of additional work with him--work that perhaps you've put off because you dreaded having to go through finding a quality contractor for each additional project. In my case, I started off with vinyl plank flooring over 1400 sq. feet (spot-leveling & demo needed), with some switch relocation and other electrical work (outlet additions, ceiling box), recessed lighting installation, and HVAC vent installations. By the end I had added significant drywall patching (including closing holes in attic), replacing a huge wood paneled room with all-new drywall, installed an attic ladder, replaced a rear door (including new framing & storm door install), repaired a front door, had a custom divider wall built to hide an HVAC unit, had soundproofing insulation put in, multiple in-wall access panels, minor plumbing, and I could honestly go on. I got an amazing amount done beyond what I originally though was possible for my budget. Yosif is careful to make sure that you are OK with the finished product on each phase of the work that is being done, and is willing to redo things that are not quite right. Each job is properly finished too, with the small things like priming on drywall (plenty skip this!), clean up, and material disposal. I found him very trustworthy as well and had no issue with him doing work at my home regardless of whether I was there or not, yet he was also respectful of my schedule. I would also consider him skilled at a very broad range of construction areas/topics, which if you've hired a number of contractors before you probably know that is not always the case. Although I do want to note that I found his drywall work especially good. I don't think many people would assume that he has 10+ years of experience, but it shows in what he is capable of an his approach to solving the problems that you encounter (and you will always find something interesting when you start opening up walls!). In short, I would gladly recommend him without any reservations.

Jess Goodman (AMC, Inc.) was the general contractor for our home at 2800 Davenport Street NW in Washington, DC. What went well: AMC took on all challenges of this difficult property, post and beam construction on a 40-degree slope of rock behind a stream protected by the Army Corps of Engineers and avoided by other contractors. Jess met several difficult challenges with impressive ingenuity. The crew built an excellent, tight house to our specifications. Jess pays attention to the homeowner. He also means it when he guarantees his work. He has come back several times, even 10 years later, to make sure everything is right. What could have been better: Occasionally, deadlines slipped and there were some issues with finish work, although none with basic construction. This is a solid house. These items notwithstanding, Jess Goodman is a delight to work with and we are very pleased with the result. There is no question we would use him again.

AMAZING!!! Came out the night before to see what they will need to do since it was installing a whole shower panel and not just the shower head. Gave me a very reasonable quote and was not pushy. Came the next day, completed the work professionally and very clean and neat too. The price was as quoted and everything works and looks better than expected. Thank you, the original service was booked by Amazon Services, they did rebook 3 different plumbers until "The Fix-IT Guys" were booked and it was great since everyone else was incapable to perform the work. I will always use this company now!!!
