You think you know guitar... but you have know idea. I have played guitar on and off for over 15 years, including practicing with introductory lessons as a kid, self-learning, open mics, and playing covers and originals with several bands. I would consider myself an "intermediate" player... Nearly one year into lessons with Dan Cohn and my world has changed. For those of you who don't want to read to much further, let me just say - he will transform your playing and take you to the next level. More details: I have had the awesome experience of advancing my rhythm guitar playing, learning how to "truly play" in a band and ensemble setting, and enhance my lead guitar playing, in addition to significantly improving music theory. Without a doubt, Dan is a virtuoso - a master of music practically without any arrogance of airs. If you can dedicate the time and determination to improve your guitar playing, Dan will create a customized path to help you meet your goals. Most importantly, he is an awesome person creating a very cool, inclusive community of musicians through his JamClass program, which aligns your individual lessons and study with real-life application during JamClasses, playing songs with an ensemble of other students. Improving your skills in anything is hard and takes work, Dan expects you to put in the time and effort - and if you do, you will be seriously rewarded and excited about how much you can accomplish!

Gregg Rocks! I hadn't played guitar in about 10 years and had forgotten almost everything I knew. After a few fun, informative, fast and simple lessons with Gregg I was totally back up to speed! After a few more lessons I was playing better than I ever had before!

Don knows his stuff, he's easy to get along with and overall a really nice guy. He has an impressive repertoire of musical skills and a lifetime of experience in music to draw from. As far as instruments he can play a little bit of everything, he can basically teach you any instrument you'd find in a regular rock band, folk, country, pop, blues etc. He's probably most proficient on the guitar and piano but he also knows quite a lot about vocals. If you struggle with theory he does a great job demystifying some of the fundamentals of music theory that are useful to beginners. Whether you're an absolute beginner or long time musician Don will be able to help you out. Highly recommend.

I've been playing acoustic guitar for the past 7 years, but never took lessons or learned any theory, which led me to hit a plateau and a loss of interest. After a couple of sessions with Stevie, I was able to connect previous experience with new guitar knowledge in order to play more creatively and have more fun doing so.

Morgan is a great guitar teacher. I have taken lessons off and on since 1972. That's a long time. Each time the teacher would show me some dreaded "music theory". I always resisted and just went to "show me the chords...show me the licks." Guess what? Morgan got through to my hard head after all these years. His method of showing theory is reasonable and logical and I FINALLY got it!! Hooray! The benefits of understanding the WHY behind the guitar and not just the HOW are ENORMUS. I Highly recommend Morgan.

I got my first guitar last Christmas (at 52!) and thought I'd take a couple of lessons to get started. I saw Bill's ad, liked what he had written (though I have to say I was a little skeptical) but thought, probably no harm in taking a couple lessons and then doing the rest on my own with free YouTube videos. Well, here I am, almost one year and 52 lessons later, playing guitar like I never dreamed possible! And no YouTube in sight. Nothing but Bill Twilde's exceptional guitar teaching and mentoring. You know, you come across true teachers like this once, maybe twice in your life. I wasn't even sure I could form a single chord with my fingers. But because of Bill's gentle, intuitive guidance, I learned I can do more than I ever thought possible! Ok, I guess I'm gushing now but it's kind of hard to stop. He's really that good. Go see him play out somewhere in the meantime, and imagine taking lessons from someone who is also that great a performer. Been an awesome experience for me and can hardly wait to start year two!

Teresa is a very talented musician and experienced piano/guitar teacher. She is kind and patient with all of her students and with everyone around her. Her lessons are affordable but also high quality—they cover music theory, technique, musicianship, repertoire, and even a bit of music history. I have had the pleasure of observing many of her music lessons and taking piano lessons myself. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to learn piano or guitar.

My 11 year old son has been taking guitar lessons with Mike of G4 guitar in Frederick since September. Mike is an excellent teacher and guitar player. He has a lot of patience and experience. My son had very little experience playing the guitar, I am amazed by how much better he sounds and how much Mike has taught him. I highly recommend Mike at G4 Guitar!

I have known Joanna for over 30 years now, and know that even back then she had a sheer musicality both at guitar and keyboards. Her handling of elementary school students of any grade when teaching, then middle school and older, was always carefully measured, often catering to individual needs in order to bring out or focus musical gifts, or simply to raise the level of a student's appreciation for art. She has kept that measure of regard for students of all ages since she went into non-school teaching. I also would assure anybody who wants to send a younger student to her that if after an appropriate period of time she felt they were not progressing or that music was perhaps not a good fit for them that she would be honest about that to the parents rather than have anybody waste time and resources trying to engage a child with other interests. But her goal has always been, as I have observed, to find a way to engage them in the first place. Results and honesty, as well as musical passion. What more need be said. (Please know that as a professional musician myself that this is as unbiased an opinion as I can possibly render.)

Joey is an amazing guitar instructor, and my son always looks forward to their lessons! My 16 year old son started playing guitar about a year ago, and can play any music given to him now. If he has a new song he wants to learn, Joey will have him playing it by the end of the lesson! Joey shares his love of music with his students, and allows his students to explore the music they want to focus on. He also encourages his students to get creative and write their own songs, or just jam out and enjoy the music. Joey is not only an amazing instructor, he is also a great role model for my son. We are extremely happy with his instruction and highly recommend him.
