I did not anticipate the impact that Novastar tutoring would have. We started with our oldest child, and tutoring to help raise her math grade. Not only did her grade rise quickly, but also her overall confidence. We now have two children receiving "proactive" tutoring, to keep them ahead of the curve. Their grades have never been higher!

Mr. Mullen's attention to detail, and professionalism are unmatched. Tom is very personable, and takes a keen interest in clearly understanding the client's skill sets. My abilities, and accomplishments were clearly highlighted. Tom consistently went above and beyond, ensuring I was aware of job alerts, interview techniques, and upcoming job fairs. He, and his wife are a great resume writing team, and I am confident my cover letter/resume will open many doors.

Provides tutoring assistance to two elementary grade students (2nd & 3rd grade). Assists with developing study strategies that fits the student's individual needs. What went well - The tutor was very professional and knowledgeable about the issues my children were facing at school. She was able to provide immediate remedies to assist my kids in various subject areas. My kids truly enjoy their tutoring sessions and I'm very pleased with the results.

Wendy was amazing! She taught me how to read patterns and told me not to be afraid to improvise if needed to make it work. It was just what I needed. My pattern turned out great and I feel great about my edits to it. I would defiantly hire her again!

I’ve had the opportunity to utilize Ms. Ondria Johnson’s education and tutoring services since August of 2014. She has worked with my basketball teams in the subject of math and reading. Since that time, my basketball teams has not only grasped the fundamental aspects of math but, increased their skills within the classroom setting. She’s displayed on a continuing basis, patience and in-depth knowledge ranging from addition to calculus. I’m highly impressed with her diverse approach to engaging the age difference of my players. I highly recommend Ms. Johnson to work with your child an individual basis or in a group setting. Either way she’s shown and proven the ability to be ready and successful.

My experience with Erin was very brief but, very helpful and enjoyable. My 4th grader needed help with his writing. she did a very thorough assessment of his ability and proceeded. It was summer and we had a lot of travel and were not consistent clients. We are currently looking to rehire and work with her this winter/spring.

About

I am just starting, and I hope to make a good impression. I feel that having a wonderful relationship with clients is meeting them at the point of their needs and also making a very solid impression, if and when the teacher-student relationship is in force. I also believe that every inch of information should be taken in by the student. I hope to do very well, so at the moment, there is no business name.

Working with Isis is such a pleasure and I'm happy to be her student. Her classes are always so much fun but efficient as well. I've been working with her on my writing for the past 4 days. I genuinely enjoy every minute of our classes and my writing level drastically improves with each passing day. Isis is always punctual and her work quality is of a high caliber. She lets us pick out sample prompts and then we start to outline our essays together before writing them. My essays have begun to be more visually appealing, to the point, and cohesive. I've begun to view writing from a different vantage point. A subject that, up until recently, seemed boring to me has now become a fun activity. Isis has mainly been helping me with my New SAT Essay and my college application essays as well. If you've been wanting help with your writing but don't know which tutor to choose then look no further! Isis H. is the obvious choice! She's efficient, affordable, punctual, and high quality.

She is great with my son! He has made great progress in reading and writing. He went from reading two years below grade level to reading on grade level a year later. His math skills are improving everyday and he loves leaving now!

I was really struggling with the math and reading sections on the SAT. I was contacted by Universal Design Tutoring and I couldn't be more thankful. I needed a high score to get into the college I was really hoping to get into because my gpa wasn't the greatest. My tutor was so knowledgeable and put things in lamens terms for me and I was able to get the score I needed. I'm so happy:) I would highly recommend their services.

About

Tutoring - I am happy to tailor the tutoring experience to meet individual needs. I work together with students to create a plan for tutoring that may involve outside reading and "homework" assignments - if appropriate - to reinforce material covered in lessons. I am also adept at sensing when I may need to shift teaching methods or the pace of lessons for students and I encourage them to provide ongoing constructive feedback. Translations - I have been told that my translations get to the feel and intent of the original writing, beyond simply interpreting the literal meaning. Simply put, I take great care with my word choice in order to reflect the style, tone and subtlety of meaning conveyed by the author as closely as possible. Editing - I love that part of being a good editor is being a good teacher. I make recommendations to improve written material, and if I do my job well, the client learns something from the process. For example, perhaps they will gain insight on how to: make smooth transitions between paragraphs, provide sufficient evidence to support an argument, or reduce unnecessary words for clearer, more concise sentences.

Michelle volunteers with my organization by tutoring an elementary school student in reading. She is always on time, easy to communicate with, delivers lessons with accuracy, and has built a strong relationship with her student. I would especially recommend her for elementary age children -- she is patient and great at gentle redirection.
