Introduction: I Love teaching with PERSONALIZATION! In PIANO lessons my goal is to teach students how to improvise music they love, not just to play notes, but to play the music. More brain cells are used and they can play songs they love years later and not just Fur Elise (not that there's anything wrong with that song)! ART lessons help students unlock keys of understanding how to draw what they see. The rest is learning how to handle materials. My goal is to hear students express themselves fluidly on the keyboard or to see smiles of accomplishment as a student shows me artwork that represents exactly what they were trying to get across to the viewer. When this happens - what a payback!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
ART lessons in class form are $X.00 for "X" number of weeks. Private lessons are set at a set price per lesson and lasts until the project or goal is meet. PIANO lessons are tuition based ($X.00/month) with rates for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. Commissions for artwork vary in scope of subject and choice of material. Call for pricing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
PIANO: All new piano students have a free first lesson. I can evaluate young students to see if they are "ready" for lessons. Students can evaluate me. Art & Music: Do I listen to their goals? Can I meet their goals? Learning is a two way street - the student works but I must guide so they achieve their goals in the most efficient path possible. ARTWORK: Once I understand and know I can meet their expectations, a work schedule is set up so clients know what to expect at each stage.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
PIANO/MUSIC: I have been a member of the Music Teachers National Association and attend various workshops and seminars as well as read up on piano/pedagogical literature. For decades I was a church musician and used my skills in other venues. ART: The art world is constantly changing and networking is the most immediate way I stay on top of various techniques and issues as well as attend painting workshops.
