FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each client is charged by the hour. Nothing complicated. Packages of no less that 8 sessions are required.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every 2 years trainers have to recertify with CE credits. In the interim, I'm always coming across something on my own or because a client has asked a question. Eavesdropping on gym conversations can spark interest, as well. Trainers train differently. There is something to be learned from sometimes unlikely sources.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Back in the '80s, being a gym rat was a stepping stone to being a trainer. People would see you everytime they came in and eventually would assume that you know what you were doing, so the questions would begin. Maybe because you were a "big guy" they would figure you must know a lot about working out, so the questions would come. I got some cheap business cards made and....Voila! I was a trainer. Training was fun. It was good to be someone that people would come to for advice. I got certified. When people I'd known for years heard what I was doing, more that one asked, "What took you so long?"
