Ursa was very responsive, and did a great job answering all of my questions. Our teachers enjoyed their class, everyone was smiling in a class that can typically be very tedious. We will definitely be contacting him again!

I have been weight lifting with Michael one-on-one, three times a week for over a year now and can truly say that he is head and shoulders above all other trainers in the Richmond area. I have worked with several trainers around town and have also participated in some of the more popular gym and group fitness classes (bootcamps & Crossfit). Michael takes a holistic approach to fitness and not only pushes you beyond your own perceived limits, but will help you to examine all aspects of your lifestyle to identify any obstacles and/or potential de-railers. At the onset of my training with Michael, my goal was to help make my workout more well-rounded by adding weight lifting to my mostly cardio workout. Now, I'm not only lifting weights above what I thought was do-able for my middle-aged, female body, but exceeding those weights with a safe and steady progression. I always feel confident in his abilities to help me to lift safely and effectively. I recommend Michael to anyone who is serious about their fitness and ready to make a positive change to their workout routine.

Being a first timer I was nervous but Brunner is very down to earth. The classes are set up in a way that it is easy to jump right in. The other gym members are all unique and friendly which keep the classes fun and interesting. No complaints at all !!!

Daniel and his wife Jan are professional instructors, came to our home, and accommodated 4 students in the class. He is prepared, organized and makes it very personal with related stories and experience. I would highly recommend Daniel for this type of training.

I have taken a class with Wood Martial Arts as well as an individual healing session- both were great experiences! Joe is an excellent instructor, very skilled and makes each movement easy to understand and follow. I would definitely recommend group or private lessons!

After some issues with my ex fiance, I found Alex had classes for self defence. I expected him to be some karate instruor with contracts or some big scary dude who wanted to "teach me wrestling"), but instead he was a very professional, understanding and down to earth guy. He asked the type I wanted, (sport fighting, personal issues, or just basic knowledge), and helped teach me not only ways to protect myself, but also ways to avoid bad situations and ways to talk down fights. Thankfully, I haven't needed to physically protect myself yet, but the confidence that I have now has made me less afraid.

This was a great self defense class, and helped me learn how to be situational aware, in norman everyday situations. This is a course I want my 17 year old to go through as we prepare him to go away to college.

    About

In martial arts, we have an ongoing rewards system that challenges the individual and acknowledges them on their own merit and achievements. Belt exams are excellent examples of the reward system as the student progresses and learns to be a quality practitioner and leader. Our goal is simple: be a black belt! A word used to symbolize excellence, knowledge, tenacity and discipline. In martial arts, we use a weekly word and a message to boost the individuals at our school! Words that are symbolic in all leadership roles such as focus, fitness, teamwork, discipline and determination -- to name just a few. We provide weekly and daily reinforcements. They are not seasonal but year-round reinforcement and with the same instructors, not new teachers every season. Individuals with strong personal activities that boost self-confidence deal with a lot less problems and social issues including school work. Self-confidence and self-esteem are the keys to success. Just turn on any television channel and see what they are trying to sell you about becoming a person in charge or in other words, personal power -- martial arts is it! We value goals, respect, attitude, discipline and esteem. At AmeriKick, we have soared to the top of the industry by being recognized as one of the top 10 martial arts schools in the world in competition and an instrumental, repeated community leader with young people. We have utilized these attributes in developing a one-of-a-kind curriculum for you, the new student. Here at AmeriKick, we are innovators in the industry bringing to you cutting-edge leadership skills and martial arts practices. All we ask of you is a few things: a positive attitude, good attendance (which we monitor very closely to keep you on track with your goals), your commitment to the program and your tuition kept timely. Meet us with these obligations, and we will untap the new positive self-image and self-disciplined life you strive for. Here at AmeriKick, we believe that a person who has definitive positive goals, respect for himself and others, a positive outlook on life, a self-disciplined lifestyle along with a healthy self-esteem will be a successful and productive member of our community.

    About

We offer quality training in the Tang Shou Tao system of Xing Yi Quan kung fu, from a distinctly Biblical foundation. Shifu Read Wall, a graduate of the Christian Liberty Academy School System's homeschool program and Missouri Baptist University, offers classes in effective striking and grappling, as well as self defense training. Xing Yi kung fu is an internal style that had its birth on the battlefield. It is not a competition friendly style. It has proven its ability over the hundreds of years it has been used, and it is still being used by the Chinese military in training troops.

    About

We have programs for various purposes, which range from self-defense to basic martial arts, to life skills and esteem building, and more. Over the years, the ATA has come to understand that there are a lot of reasons for studying Songahm taekwondo, and we have strived hard to create programs that will aid in realizing these objectives, instead of forcing our students into a single, linear area of practice and study. Songahm taekwondo itself is always evolving, and therefore, we'll always devise new programs, as well as update our present programs to make sure that, as much as possible, our students have access to the various facets of Songahm taekwondo. The Smithville ATA Karate for Kids School provides the following programs: The Smithville ATA Karate for Kids school has two programs: Basic and Leadership. The basic plan was developed to teach fundamental martial arts building blocks: * blocks * stances * kicks * strikes The program is focused on life skills and physical fitness development: * discipline * confidence * respect * self-control * focus The leadership program was developed to the same features as the basic program, but it also trains the student on essential leadership skills. The students in the leadership program have set a long-term objective to become a 1st-degree black belt. They're also training to become future instructors and leaders.
