    Guitar/Bass/Ukulele Instruction

    (25 reviews)

I have played guitar since I was 12 and am now 64. When I decided to expand my knowledge of the guitar and improve my technique there was only one person in my mind to go to, Jimmy Dykes. Jimmy' knowledge of all styles of music, his knowledge of reading, his knowledge of the fretboard is as good as it gets. His passion for guitar and the desire to pass this on through teaching makes him an outstanding instructor. I have recommended Jimmy to anyone who wants to take lessons on guitar or bass whether they are beginners or someone, like myself, who have played for a long time and want to take their playing to a higher level and expand their horizons.

  • Private Guitar Lessons

    Dennis Norton Guitar Studio

    (10 reviews)

I've been taking guitar lessons from Dennis for about 5 years. He is a very patient and perceptive teacher! He helps you target your weaknesses as a musician and has written many useful exercises that strengthen the skills you need. He also tabs out songs of the student's choice, for immediate application and is familiar with many different genres of music. I have greatly enjoyed learning from him and would encourage anyone who wants to take up the guitar to definitely choose Dennis!

    Pianoman

I'm a lifelong musician and educator and have played professionally. I am a very friendly teacher who strives to guide my teaching to keep the student's interest. Music is not about learning what I demand. It is about learning to express you, and it's never just about learning notes by rote. It's about learning a new language that can be expressed in many different ways.
