FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I subscribe to publications that keep me up to date on new research and training topics like the Whole Dog Journal and Stanley Coren's blog on Psychology Today. I also purchase seminar dvd's and attend seminars on varying training topics.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Dogs have been my passion since I was a child. As the third generation in my family to be involved with dogs, I grew up exhibiting dogs at dog shows, obedience trials, and herding trials. I can't imagine doing anything else with my life.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My two most popular classes would be Puppy/Rookie and Reactive Rover. Puppy/Rookie is a class for dogs of any age with little to no previous training experience. Here we lay a great foundation for training and eliminate behaviors like jumping, play biting, and excessive barking. Reactive Rover is a class specifically designed for dogs who are more reactive to stimuli than we would like them to be. Whether it is caused by fear, excitement, or intense need to control situations, we can help your dog start in a class that is designed to make you feel successful and start teaching alternate behaviors for your dog.
