We are very pleased with our experience with Turnaround Dogs. Pete and Amber came to our home and worked with our “new to us” boxer who was having aggression issues with another family members dog. In the process of addressing those issues their sensitive and intuitive teaching style instilled in us an enthusiasm for training our pets general behavior and we saw tangible results almost immediately. I would highly recommend Turnaround Dogs.

We haven't actually boarded our dog yet, but Furry Friend Sleepovers has been professional, responsive, reasonably priced and accommodating. We anticipate a very good experience for our dog.

Kristen and Natalie took care of my cat for two months while I was out of the country. It was the longest I'd ever been away from my cat, but Kristen and Natalie gave her so much love while I was gone! Their rate is more than reasonable and I never worried about my cat getting anything less than amazing care. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a pet-sitter!

I am a student. I am into teaching but love working with pets. I can do part-time or overnight jobs. I am flexible and can travel up to 10 miles.

I will walk and spend quality time with your pets, plus do other details that we can discuss.

My care and work for animals is not only a job it is my passion and my life. I provide the one on one care that people want when they cant be with there animal family members. I not only care for them but spend time with them as well. If they need special attention I am more then willing and have much experience in giving that care. If your animal requires medication or certain one on one time I can do that and leave you with no worries that it will be done right and with the utmost of care. Not many animal care places can or will do that. I basically take them under my "family" wing till you get home. I am also trustworthy to not only take care of your animals but also to be in your home. I can provide refrences and am willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have no worries before you head out. I love all the animals I get to meet. They are truly the best thing in my day and job.

We provide in-home dog sitting, play and walking services. This can be a chance for your pet to have a play experience or just a good walk with lots of attention and exercise. We can also help if you need to be away on business or pleasure and prefer to have your pet stay in their own surroundings. I have references and many years experience with animals. References are available.

I am loving and passionate to provide the best care for your animals. Your pets will be safe and happy. There will be peace of mind for you and your loved ones.

I have been pet sitting for over seven years now. I have experience with household pets, such as dogs, cats, birds, etc. I also have experience with farm animals. I can sit in the client's home or my own and do day visits or walks.

I am a pet sitter. I provide care to your pets while you are away. My service includes feeding, medicating, grooming, walking and playing.

We offer a variety of services including pet sitting in your home, boarding, dog walking, home services and dog training. I get to spend my day with animals and I get paid for something I love to do.

I am here to help make your pet understand its enivorment and what is going on around them. I also teach them what is acceptable behavior and what is not. I can train your dog so that you are the one in control. I also do pet sitting, dog walking and bathing and grooming. I have 15 years of working hands-on day and night training, preparing puppies and adults to enter the dog show ring and win. Socializing a pet especially when they are growing is a must, so I can help you do that if you have a new, four-legged friend.

As a pet sitter, your sole responsibility is to take care of the client's pets while he/she is traveling. This includes walking the dogs, feeding the animals, cleaning up any messes you (or they) have made (counter and spoons cleaned), administering medication (if needed), scooping the litter box daily, picking up the mail and paper, and doing any light watering for indoor/outdoor plants.

I am an experienced dog walker. I have also been through animal handling classes and will walk or pet sit your pet.

I am seriously dedicated, follow thru, and punctual. Knowing that I enable others to complete tasks, or goals.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is horse boarding?

Horse boarding is like rental housing for your horse. Horse boarding is helpful for people who don’t have the space or the resources to install and maintain a stable on their property. A horse can be housed in a barn with other horses and receive the care they need. Owners can visit their horse for riding, grooming, training, etc. Horse boarding services may vary based on the company and the price. Some horse boarders may offer short-term boarding of 24 hours to several nights for people passing through an area, while most offer boarding by the month for horses whose owners live in the area. There is partial- and full-service boarding, which indicates how much of the work of feeding the horse and cleaning the stall is the responsibility of the owner rather than the boarding barn. For an added fee, horse boarding can also include grooming services, riding and training, medication administration, and more.

To find the right boarding fit for you and your horse, make a list of your top priorities. These might include immediate access to riding trails, round-the-clock supervision, or a nearby or affiliated veterinarian. Always visit the site to learn exactly where your horse will be kept and whether the barn and grounds are in good condition. Read reviews, and always practice smart hiring. It’s also critical to sign the proper legal documents that protect both you and your horse, such as boarding agreements. Above all, make sure it seems like a place your horse will be comfortable between your visits.

Where can I board my horse?

You can board your horse at any barn or stable that provides horse boarding services. To find horse boarding near you, read reviews of area locations and speak with equestrian friends to find one with a solid reputation. Ideally, the location will be within a reasonable drive from your home or office. This is especially important if you are paying for partial boarding services and are responsible for feeding your horse and cleaning its stall each day. You may choose your boarding barn or stables based on the services they provide. Some offer more extensive amenities — at an added price — that reduce the amount of work you need to do to keep your horse comfortable. Consider whether you want training, blanketing, exercise and other perks in addition to standard offerings like hay and stable mucking. Your stable may have temperament requirements and proof that your horse has the proper vaccinations required by your state. This protects both your horse and the other horses in the stable. Many states require that locations offering horse boarding services have stable licenses that are renewed each year. Always be sure to enter into a clearly written boarding contract that will cover your horse and belongings in case of accident, and remember our tips for smart hiring.

How much does boarding a horse cost?

Finding the right horse boarding location is a big step in a horse owner’s life. This will be the place your horse will live and where you will visit multiple times per week or even daily. The cost of horse boarding will depend on the level of service you desire, the location of the stables, and the luxury level of the property. Here are some examples of average horse boarding costs:

  • Overnight stabling: $30 per horse per night.
  • Partial boarding (owner feeds and mucks): $220 per horse per month, with a three-month commitment.
    • Administration of oral medication: $10 per dose.
    • Bandaging: $20 per event, plus cost of materials.
    • Trailering to vet if owner is unable: $25, plus $25 per hour to wait with horse.
  • Basic full boarding: $325-$350 per month per horse. Includes twice daily hay and daily stall cleaning.
    • Horse training: $20 per session.
    • Pasture turn out: $20 per session.
    • Blanketing: $1 per day/$30 per month.
    • Vet or farrier hold: $20. This means haltering the horse and standing with it as it receives treatment or shoeing.
