FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Not too complicated, usually it's a fixed price I will give after taking a look at the job, only modified if there is unexpected things run into during the job like structural oddities, etc. I've been doing this long enough that I have a general idea after taking a look at what needs to be done. If I need to drive more than an hour round trip to take a look at things and give a quote, I charge $25 per hour including the drive time, but that is put toward the work when it is finished, and I will give any tips I can while there to improve things until the work is done. If it's a smaller job, they pay when I'm finished, a larger job the equipment is paid for up-front and labor costs along the timeline of the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I get about 8 industry magazines every month and regularly read the relevant industry websites.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into projector setup because I wanted to see what they looked like to see if I wanted to purchase one. No one I could find within range had them set up at all, so I offered to start setting them up.
