FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally, I ask $155 for a basic religious service within 25 miles of my home in northern Lexington, KY. If a couple simply wants a pastor to bless their marriage, I can do very simple services in parks, bookstores, or backyards for $100 or less, depending upon what the couple needs. I have done and will do services at no cost, depending upon the circumstances. I ask $25 to help with vows, which means arranging the format to best suit the wedding couple and helping select and arrange specific ceremonies/sections within the service itself. Due to travel expenses, I now ask $50 to attend the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by talking with the bride and groom, usually over the phone unless I already know them. From there, we arrange to meet together if they want a more elaborate service. When their needs are very simple, everything except the service itself can be handled over the phone. Then, when we meet in person, we will already be prepared to begin the service.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Doctorate of Ministry and a Masters of Divinity, over 150 hours of post-graduate work. I was first ordained in the United Methodist Church, but I later transferred to the Church of God and was ordained there. I have been performing weddings for almost 25 years, in a wide variety of circumstances.
