Great time. Learned more in a week then in the last 9 years. 😀 He really loves music and is fun to work with.
He is such a great teacher and so knowledgeable! My fist lesson was for guitar and after watching him play a little bit on piano I signed up for that as well. He makes me laugh and feel very comfortable and at ease. He is like a super nice grandpa that you just want to hug. (Which I did get a hug for doing a good job once!) He really knows his stuff, he explains things very well and thoroughly. He will join in and play and sing with your lesson to help you with timing and rhythm. He works with your schedule, which was great for me because I work on a rotating schedule and am on 2nd shift. His lessons are very affordable and once you are done with your lesson he gives you candy! Who wouldn't like that? :)
I would highly recommend him for anyone wanting to learn guitar or piano. If your are just starting out and want to give it a try before buying an instrument he rents instruments and sells them. Don't be afraid and give it a shot. I recommend him to everyone I know.
I'm a 28 year old female who knew basic piano and had no prior knowledge about guitar. I came in knowing how to read music, treble and bass clef.
Jamie thanks so much, you are a doll
I'm interested in lessons.
Sarah, you need to call me for a lesson time, thanks David
Cassie, sorry you had to transfer, you were doing great
David is thorough, patient, and knowledgable - everything someone learning an instrument needs. His studio is very comfortable, and his rates are exceptional. He's very personable and talented, as well. I have recommended him to my friends.
Mr. Judd is thoroughly knowledgeable about his subject, professional, great with beginners and youth. I have no experience of him for advanced material (hopefully someday). But, if you hire him for your beginner/intro to guitar, you will not be disappointed.
He is a pleasure to take lessons with
Great with kids. My 12 year old son is enjoying playing the banjo and having Mr. Judd as a teacher. He is learning to read music and respect the art. Mr. Judd's experience and style of teaching boost the confidence in his students. I feel lucky to have found him!
I completed my first lesson with David and couldn't be more pleased at this time. David was very patient as we exceeded our session time by nearly 30 minutes. He seems passionate about music and his approach to teaching the right way (e.g., "old school, not rock school or tabs") aligns with my objectives in learning as a 43 year old adult student. I'm very eager to learn guitar and feel like I'm on the right path with David.
I have always wanted to learn guitar but never pursued it until a close friend began lessons with Mr. Judd. I never would of dreamed being able to look at music and know what the notes actually were. It is obvious that he enjoys what he does because the lessons are insightful, fun, and it never seems a chore. He is very patient, encouraging, and Instills the need for discipline in practice in order to truly appreciate the joy music can bring to the soul. He truly wants to share with his students such a gift. He accomplishes all of this with infectious laughter...if you desire to learn to play an instrument but fear feeling intimidated, look no further...It is better to learn from someone who is passionate about what he does than to waste your time and money on someone who doesn't take a vested interest in your success...you won,t be disappointed!
TAMMY, thanks a lot, I truly appreciate this fine review
Learning with David has been quite an enjoyable experience. I've had only one lesson thus far and am anxious for the next. I highly doubt you will regret learning from this man.
thanks Henery, you will learn fast, your comments are appreciated
I am one of Mr. Judd's older (56) guitar students. Mr. Judd is patient and is sensitive to the student's age and experience that each one brings. Yes...it is a job for him but he loves music and takes it personally if I learn. I would recommend Mr. Judd for anyone young or old that is serious about wanting to learn a music instrument.
Thanks Paul, your comments are appreciated
I wanted to wait till I had my 2nd lesson- just to make sure I enjoyed it as much as the 1st. I DID!!
Mr. Judd seems to really care that you learn the correct way and I have tried the others, no comparison. He is very accommodating with the students time. I am having a ball this time. and I am learning some notes and not dots on a sheet of paper that someone drew. and He has a bunch of stuff on the walls to look at,
TIM, truly a pleasure working with you, thanks
My daughter, age 14, and my son, age 9, took up weekly lessons, guitar and piano respectively, with Mr. Judd this past fall. I am very impressed with the amount of musical knowledge my two children have obtained under Mr. Judd's guidance in a short amount of time. My children look forward to going to their weekly lessons as they know it is time well-spent and always something new to be learned. Mr. Judd is kind, professional, encouraging, and fun. As far as teachers go, Mr. Judd is a treasure and we are thankful for the opportunity to learn the joys of music with him. Highly recommended!
I just started taking guitar lessons from David and he is great. Very patient, flexible on hours, and price is awesome. I would not improve anything about the service its not possible. I will recommend him to everyone.
David has been helping me with the banjo and my daughter with the guitar. I was absolutely music stupid coming in and thanks to him we have learned so much. I can hosestly say that my daughter and I look forward to going to lessons each week. For affordable private lessons, give David a call you wont be disapointed
Mr. Judd is an excellent teacher. Being a teacher myself I know how important it is to relate whatever is being taught to something the student already knows and Mr. Judd does a great job doing this. His studio is a very comfortable setting and can be inspiring being there are dozens of beautiful guitars hanging on the walls. With his experience he knows the steps to learning how to successfully play the guitar and will teach it the right way with no shortcuts. He is a great guitar player himself so when you are not quite getting something he can model it for you and give you a sound to strive for. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Judd to anyone at any level.
thanks Dustin, appreciated
We have been sending our son to Mr. Judd for guitar lessons for about 9 months now. Mr. Judd makes it fun. The half an hour lessons always go by quickly. We think he has done such a great job that we just recently started our daughter on piano lessons with him. His new studio is very nice, and comfortable. I could not recommend him more highly.
aappreciated, thanks much
