Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I strive for excellence in English teaching with every student. But for me, this doesn't only mean making good lesson plans and searching out new resources. It means taking the time getting to know each individual so that I can truly understand their needs. Everyone is different, and learning is a very personal thing! I love meeting and serving people. I also like digging deeper into my own language as I prepare lessons, but really, it's all about my students! Some just want to speak casually in English, without studying formally, and that's ok!

I am taking English lessons from her to improve the communication skills in a professional environment. So the goal was not very specific and it would have been unclear what and how to teach me. However she would figure out soon how to go about it. She has been very attentive during the sessions and I got good feedback from her on my weaknesses and what to do to communicate better. She is very effective and pointed and I would recommend her to anyone who considers improving their English skills.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I read regularly on English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom research and teaching methods, especially as I am instructing a yearly training course for new teachers.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I've been teaching Chris, 9 years old, for three or four years now. He was about 6 years old when we began, and I honestly don't think he was very interested in English! Of course, we just learned some simple vocabulary and songs back then. But recently, I've been pleased to see him "growing up." Now he tries to say everything in English, whether he really knows how to or not, and even asks questions about grammar that I haven't taught yet. I'm so glad to have been with him for long enough a time to see him naturally mature as an English learner, and to know him well enough to perceive when he's "ready" for something new. That's how I like to teach.
