Introduction: I taught math to high school students for 14 years. I found Thumbtack in 2020 and I am once again enjoying the opportunity of helping students learn. The technology makes it feel like one-on-one in person tutoring. I love helping students in many subjects Pre Algebra through AP Calculus AB. I'd love to help your student with ACT or SAT prep. I can show them different strategies to help them through problems efficiently and quickly. I can explain things different ways so that I am able to help students who are struggling, or help students who want to extend their knowledge and understand to their fullest potential. Mrs. Spangler was everything I could ask for in a tutor! She saved my college calculus one grade and my sanity! She walked me through my homework and practice tests while encouraging me to apply my critical thinking to each problem. I got more out of our one hour weekly sessions than I did in 4 hours of lecture time. She recorded all of our meetings so I could go back and rewatch them, as well as provided other resources for me to learn from. I finished calculus with an A thanks to Mrs. Spangler! What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer remote tutoring only and charge $50/hr. I have a discounted rate of $45/hr for sessions before 7 pm Eastern Time.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am mostly looking to tutor remotely, but if you live close we can work out other arrangements.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's teaching degree in Math Education from BYU. I taught math in 3 different high schools for a total of 14 years.
