For the first eight of my ten years with the guitar, I was classically trained in music theory and guitar styles. During this time, I performed in bands of varying styles to contrast the hard theory I studied.
I have taught beginning guitar to several students before, and currently stay sharp by playing Latin guitar music, a personal favorite. My method of teaching begins with an emphasis on proper technique, which includes positioning, strengthening exercises and introducing music theory. From here, I explore what areas of music a student prefers and wants to get out of the guitar. Together, we will work on songs and styles that will help you as a student, grow in experience and have a know-how of the instrument.
