My husband and I hired Kate Oliver Photography to take new headshots for us. Katie was easy to work with and traveled to Dallas from Baton Rouge for this job. She was very knowledgable and seemed to really love the work she does. She went far beyond just taking pictures, making sure my outfit was flattering, correcting my hair and even touched up my makeup when I needed it! My husband has a hard time taking pictures but Katie stayed patient and got the perfect picture in no time (under an hour). When I got the final image, I literally cried! They are honestly the best pictures we have together and I will cherish them forever. The only thing that went wrong was the batteries in her flash weren't charged when she got there. Luckily she had back ups in her bag. This only set us behind by ten minutes. Other than that, Katie did a fantastic job and I will be hiring her again.

Katie did a wonderful job in taking our family pictures. It was the first time in many years we were able to be together. Katie helped us relax and have fun as she captured memories in photos for us to treasure and enjoy. Adding even more pleasure to this memorable time for us was her creative expertise in picking just the right place for our pictures to be taken. She choose our family garden and scenic lot. It was so much more meaningful and personal than the usual pictures of us standing in front of a Christmas tree, or on the front porch of our home. Katie knew there is a lot of hard work and love put in at this location. From planting trees with personalize names of ones we love. Hanging a swing on the lot to sit and reflect and planting of the garden that we share with our entire community. Katie was so right as she picked up on our mood of love and happiness when we are at the garden. She was very patient, did not try to "pose" us but instead suggested things that came natural and it was spontaneous. I'm not sure how long it took as it was so much fun and was over before we knew it, I think Katie has a lot of insight on how to get just that right shot as she is clicking away and you are thinking, there is no way my mouth was not open..... Then ... you receive the pictures she took and they are so good they bring tears to your eyes. The quality of the pictures are very high and professional. I consider my pictures priceless. Another thing that really impressed me was, Katie gave me a day and time she could do the pictures and even though it rained on and off and I was hesitant..... She gave us a kind little shove to continue and I am so thankful she did. It is rare in the climate of our current working environment to have people actually show up on time and do what they promise. With Katie as our photographer, it was refreshing to have someone do just that and with such a pleasant and caring attitude. The only thing that could improve my experience is to do all again one day for some more pictures to add to my memories. Thank you so much. Cindy Brumfield and Family.

She works with you to pick the perfect location, theme and style of your session. She goes above and beyond in every possible way. How did you get started doing this type of work?
Ive always obsessed over taking photos. The decision to go full time came quite naturally after I took newborn photos of my first nephew. Watching my sister fall in love with the photos gave me a sense of pride and joy that I can't seem to replace with any other trade.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently teamed up with 2 young professional women, just starting out a new jewelry line, to create a look book. It was my first time being a part of all aspect of the creative: location, hair, make-up, clothing and "vibe" of the shoot. The photos are amazing but the team effort is what makes me really proud.
