Gianni has done many kinds of work for me, my boss, our executives and our company office over the last several months. His work is of very good quality and he has been quick to respond to an emergency or problem we are facing. In short Ive been amazed at how many different skills he has from wood working, to pro painting, to electrical, plumbing, tiling and fixing just about anything. He has too many skills to list and the best part is he is about half the price of most every other contractor I have used. He has saved us a ton of money and its been a pleasure to do business with him.

I had the best experience with these two gentlemen and they have my highest recommendation! I live in a very small townhouse with very narrow corners and stairs. These two men were able to take apart my bed and carry all of it down including a very large and heavy dresser without scuffing the walls, chipping the paint or causing any damage whatsoever to the house or items. Not only were they very patient and skilled with moving they were extremely polite! They were able to negotiate an amazing price with me as well! After all was loaded in the trailer attached to my SUV they also backed out the trailer I had attached and positioned my SUV so it would be easy for me to simply drive away. I would hire them for whatever move I may have in my future and I would recommend them to anyone I know! Do not look anywhere else! These guys are the best out there!

Rodney responded quickly, this is the first time I have used him, so he responded to my message which I posted late one evening and he was able to come out the very next morning to do a consult. He was on time in fact a little early at the time he said he would be here. He politely called to let me know he was early and outside. We agreed that he would do the work the next day at a particular time, and he showed up to do the work at the time he said he would be here. He is pleasant and I thought fair and his work was very good. I would definitely use him again and recommend him, and in fact I am considering having him return at some point to correct work done on my house in the past by another workman who did not do a good job. I would absolutely recommend him and will use him again if I have more work he can do.

Gustavo gave me an extremely solid deal on painting two rooms, undercutting the other few offers I got by a couple hundred bucks. He said it would likely take two days to complete the job, but instead I return home at 2 to find that he has completed a perfect painting job in both rooms and was nearly done moving all of the furniture back. We're already discussing him painting my bedroom, the dude works fast and the work is very high quality. 10/10

Did a great job deep cleaning my house to prepare for new tenants. When a few missed spots were pointed out they quickly went back over things. I'd be happy to hire them again for similar work.

I am looking forward to amending this review if we can get our renovation finished. The biggest problem started when the 3rd floor addition was not tarped properly and it rained on first floor which is our living and dining room. So, we had to completely clear those rooms out. Which has led to us only being able to live in two rooms of our house. They treated their mess up like another part of the renovation and they STILL have not replaced the floors NOR hooked up the AC to the be other side of the house. My kitchen is literally Hell’s Kitchen. With two small kids, who both finish school this week, I don’t think I have to tell you how hard it is to not have even the part of the house that WAS supposed to be functional throughout the renovation working. See photos. Also, my yard is still a mess. Full of rusty nails and a rusty saw blade and the dumpster that hasn’t been taken away yet. So can’t send the kids outside. Bill didn’t include the windows as part of our estimate - so be aware of that. I find that fascinating. He also is claiming not to “remember” the original plans to demolish the stairs and rebuild them - a $5000 part of the renovation - even after haggling with us about windows - he said “he doesn’t remember” that the stairs were part of the estimate. I would like that off the top of the price. So- I sincerely look forward to amending this review if they can get their stuff together and finish this up. As a counter to the negativity - the upstairs work is beautiful.

We had our garage floor done and it looks great. Eric is a true craftsman. He found cracks in the floor that we were not aware of and he repaired them before coating the floor. He cares about the quality of his work. We definitely recommend Eric.

Eddie Hebert and his brother Michael are the "real deal". Very professional and quality oriented, it's quite obvious they take a great deal of pride in their work. Accommodating and easy to work with. Great value received and pricing was very reasonable. Highly recommend for any exterior cleaning and painting. I'm sure their interior painting is just as impressive as the exterior work they did for me. It was a real pleasure working with this professional and knowledgeable team.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
