Introduction: I tutor because I love working one on one with a struggling student to teach them the study skills they need to success (and hopefully not need me anymore.) I am very picky on who I take on as a client. I try to not take on more than 3 students a year. The reason I do this is because I become physically and emotionally invested. I refuse to extend myself thin and not be able to give my students “my all.” The two current students I work with now, I have worked with for about two years now. I will be with them until they (and their moms) no longer need/ want me. I believe this is an investment not just for the parents and students but for myself. I absolutely love working with struggling students. There is nothing better than the look on a kid’s face when he/she accomplished/ exceed expectations on what they once believed was impossible.

Mrs. Rebecca works hard with Wyatt even when he isn't being the nicest kid in town. He loves seeing her and she can get him to stay on task when it was a challenge for others including me.

I would highly recommend Rebecca for tutoring. As an elementary teacher, I have sent my students to her for additional help for several years. She has helped my students to implement better study skills, become organized, and learn time management. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing: Typically $35 an hour -may vary depending on child's needs. -Special pricing can be arranged for multiple days a week - accept Cash or Venmo only
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initially, I like to sit down and speak to the parent/guardian on concerns and expectations. It is also beneficial to see previous grades, assignments, special needs paperwork to get an idea on how to help the student. Assuming the initial meeting with the parent goes well and we are both on the same page I will meet with the student. The first tutoring session is free. The purpose of the first tutoring session is to get to know the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
-Certified teacher with a degree in 6-12 Education (Social Studies Education w/ minor in Biology) since 2008 -Master's in Educational Science: Curriculum and Instruction -Worked extensively in tutoring elementary level students for over 15 years.
