After watching the ordeals of many people trying to repair their homes ( esp after Katrina), I observed two things consistently:
1) if one pays cheaply for repairs , the end result most often will be..... a cheap job. Too often , money is again spent to correct or revise the jobs. In the end, that job was not "so cheap", after all.....not to mention, wasting more time---looking again for that " right " contractor.
2) paying " a lot" of money for the repairs should mean ...you get good results. But ( for whatever reasons) that is not always true. And, too often, you feel the results were not "so much better" ---to justify paying such higher costs .
So my friends and I learned ...never hire someone that gave the cheapest rates--- or throw good money away on expensive contractors. Yet, it is difficult to find someone who is reasonably priced, does good quality work, and consistently reliable. But, I did found Gianni... who fulfilled all of the the criteria.
. Being out of town often for business , I could trust Gianni to be reliable --and honest. Discussing ( with intellect ) the pros and cons of his and my viewpoints before any repair (along with daily updates -- voice and/or pics) ....ensured that we would be on the " same page" throughout the process.
The home renovation for my daughters was a success. He made sure that they would sleep safely at night. They will not have to worry about the quality his repair work...so that they can now concentrate on their school work.
Gianni...his patience, his teachings, his concerns for my family. I appreciated all that.
