Gianni has done many kinds of work for me, my boss, our executives and our company office over the last several months. His work is of very good quality and he has been quick to respond to an emergency or problem we are facing. In short Ive been amazed at how many different skills he has from wood working, to pro painting, to electrical, plumbing, tiling and fixing just about anything. He has too many skills to list and the best part is he is about half the price of most every other contractor I have used. He has saved us a ton of money and its been a pleasure to do business with him.

Gustavo gave me an extremely solid deal on painting two rooms, undercutting the other few offers I got by a couple hundred bucks. He said it would likely take two days to complete the job, but instead I return home at 2 to find that he has completed a perfect painting job in both rooms and was nearly done moving all of the furniture back. We're already discussing him painting my bedroom, the dude works fast and the work is very high quality. 10/10

Ed and his crew were fantastic! This was a big job and they were totally up to the challenge. Any requests I had were met with a positive and enthusiastic response. I appreciate their flexibility and concern for doing the job to my satisfaction. I would call them a no excuses crew!! Heather kept me informed of any schedule changes along the way. They met my deadline and transformed my home beautifully! I plan to have them do my interior painting next.

5 Star painted the exterior of my 2 story home located in the Bayou St. John area of New Orleans. They performed in a professional manner during the entire project which was completed on time and within budget. I would recommend them for any residential painting contract. The Project Manager, P.J. Vincens supervised the project and performed outstandingly.

I am looking forward to amending this review if we can get our renovation finished. The biggest problem started when the 3rd floor addition was not tarped properly and it rained on first floor which is our living and dining room. So, we had to completely clear those rooms out. Which has led to us only being able to live in two rooms of our house. They treated their mess up like another part of the renovation and they STILL have not replaced the floors NOR hooked up the AC to the be other side of the house. My kitchen is literally Hell’s Kitchen. With two small kids, who both finish school this week, I don’t think I have to tell you how hard it is to not have even the part of the house that WAS supposed to be functional throughout the renovation working. See photos. Also, my yard is still a mess. Full of rusty nails and a rusty saw blade and the dumpster that hasn’t been taken away yet. So can’t send the kids outside. Bill didn’t include the windows as part of our estimate - so be aware of that. I find that fascinating. He also is claiming not to “remember” the original plans to demolish the stairs and rebuild them - a $5000 part of the renovation - even after haggling with us about windows - he said “he doesn’t remember” that the stairs were part of the estimate. I would like that off the top of the price. So- I sincerely look forward to amending this review if they can get their stuff together and finish this up. As a counter to the negativity - the upstairs work is beautiful.

We had our garage floor done and it looks great. Eric is a true craftsman. He found cracks in the floor that we were not aware of and he repaired them before coating the floor. He cares about the quality of his work. We definitely recommend Eric.

James and Curtis from C Force Construction did an amazing job! Super fast response time and EXCELLENT work. The painted our rental unit, replaced our 8' privacy fence, replaced windows, fixed drywall, completed electrical repairs, and James built a beautiful Cypress frame and mantel for one of our fireplaces. All of this was done in just a couple evenings work! They are very professional and were so much fun to work with. I could not recommend them more!

Garcia Remodeling Construction are punctual, diligent, and extremely thorough. We have an old 100 year old shotgun home and every single one of our windows leaked when it rained, letting water into the walls and creating horrendous mold inside and outside of the walls. Erix inspected all our windows and understood the problems immediately. Within a week he provided an estimate and we scheduled a start date for the project, which included fixing and sealing the windows and opening up our walls to remove and replace all the damaged wood and insulation. Erix and his colleagues took great care throughout the project, including moving and covering all our belongings to limit dust from the work. Most impressive is one would never know that our walls had to be cut open and replaced around the windows. They did an impeccable job spackling, painting, etc. We have peace of mind now, whenever it rains, that our house is completely sealed from the elements, and that we don't have to worry about mold any longer. I highly recommend Garcia Remodeling.

This review is a little late but... I received many overpriced quotes to clean up and paint 4 pairs of shutters. I mean crazy prices. This gentlemen was honest and gave a great price and even went beyond the quote and repaired one of the shutters. House sold later on! Great job! Sorry for the very late review

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
