My kid is learning so much and loves going to singing lesson.
Dr. Marchiafava is an excellent instructor! I loved our lessons together. She was very invested in my progress and the way she explains technique really helped me. She is very informative. I would highly recommend her!!
Hello other thumbtacks users, if you're looking for the greatest vocal instructor look no further. I recommend Ms Cecile to beginning and advanced musicians. Aside from the friendly home environment the exercises used in training are beneficial forever. When I first saw the prices I was in disbelief how inexpensive the lessons were, but eventually she confirmed they were true which was a plus. I never feel cheated whenever we gather multiple times a weak. I know that I'm getting my money's worth. She's very patient, never rushes into the exercises until you've 100 completed the exercise to her standards. I've received compliments from friends how my vocal range has expanded. All of my friends say I'm in tuned. But mostly importantly I feel comfortable saying I see the results every time we meet up. I highly recommend Ms Cecile to anyone looking for a great coach.
Colin is the best piano teacher I've had in the 4 years I've been practicing in New Orleans. She is very structured and organized with the lessons and I can feel myself moving forward with her as an instructor. She keeps very detailed notes on the lesson and what you should be practicing for the week. I highly recommend her as a teacher!
Good teacher for short term assignment for a kid
Fantastic and fun, both as a singer and a teacher! She has an amazing energy that makes you really want to sing. She's also studied all over the world so she knows how to teach jazz, classical and pop techniques which is just what I needed. I now have the confidence to sing lead and backup! Thanks Corina!
Incredibly helpful, responsive, and effective with a great teacher referral. Thank you!
I have successfully taught many people ranging in age from 6-35 basic piano and voice techniques. All of them are now able to play the piano at or above average range.
I work with individuals to first learn music and theory, then I tackle in playing the instrument, such as a guitar, bass or vocal lessons.
If you are living to sing and wake up with singing on your mind, then this is the place you need to be. Here at Living to Sing, it's hard work and dedication.
I have BME from Loyola and MALA from LSU. I am offering voice and piano lessons that can include festival, opera, recital performances, and National Anthem soloist at Zephyrs and Voodoo games. Students have been praised by a Disney casting director, offered contracts with LA vocal agents with IPOP, appeared in NOLA operas, in district and all-state honor choirs, featured on 5 CDs, sang in National Honor Choir at Carnegie Hall, and have been accepted to NYU, NOCCA, LSU, MSU, ULL, SLU and DePaul.
I work to free the mechanics of the voice without imposing any particular sound on the singer. We open your voice so that it continues to sound like "you," only richer, fuller, and with greater range. I also understand the separation between the anatomy of the voice and artistry. Many teachers confuse the two and use artistic terms to dicuss mechanics. This leads to confusion in the singer. As we work together you will know specifically what part of the anatomy of singing that we are working to free or align.
I have a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, as well as a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Loyola University New Orleans. I have taken courses in vocal repertoire and pedagogy, and I feel comfortable teaching students with all levels of musical and knowledge of singing. I take a number of approaches to singing depending on the needs of every student. With some people I am very technical, and with others I like to take a more holistic, confidence-based approach.
For young children, I offer small group courses in Musikgarten (0-7), Singing Lessons for Little Singers (3-7), Music for Little Mozarts (4-7), beginning violin, viola, guitar, soprano/alto recorder (7-10), and flute (9-12). Intermediate-advanced students may take individual or semi-private (2-3 students) lessons for piano and/or voice. After at least one year of lessons, kids may audition for my youth ensemble - Renaissance Kids. I also offer music appreciation, history, theory, musicianship, songwriting, performance, and wellness coaching for college students, amateur and professional musicians (any instrument). Life is like a piano. What you get out of it depends on how you play it....When will your musical journey begin? Call now to schedule a free consultation!

I am an enthusiastic and energetic teacher offering voice and piano instruction to all ages. All styles are taught. The first lesson is only $15 an hour!
I teach dance moves as an exercise routine, as well as making it a funnier way to lose ponds plus enjoy yourself.
because I taught myself and learned mainly by ear. I've also attended Southeastern University here in Hammond Louisiana. There I learned several techniques from classical guitar; this stretched my love for guitar and changed the way that I play. now I am in two bands that both play all originals consisting of acoustic jazz, blues, funk and hard rock. I can play anything in a few seconds just by hearing it. I can teach you the same.
I'm a great listener. Being calm is key for beginners.
