About this pro

Moscow-born, both classically and conceptually trained, what I can offer a student are: Painting and Drawing skills, knowledge, curiosity and self-assurance.

But most importantly, what I offer is: Creating a personal process of art creation using all of the above together with your own skills, life and knowledge.

I also find ways to share ideas and experiences that will stimulate you to keep a visual diary and start doing more for your art.

My pricing is reasonable and I can create custom packages to accommodate your budget. My Open Studio system allows students to skip classes when they have to. You buy "package of classes" if you buy 8 or more you get a discount. Classes expire at the end of the semester, which is usually 10 weeks long. You can visit on different days and times as long as a class is scheduled.

Regular 10 weeks classes run on a regular school system.

I also keep seminars for advanced students.

Alexandra is fantastic! She's very knowledgeable and I've been having fun and learning a lot. I've attended 2 classes and continuing on with 10 sessions for now. I also love the flexibility of I'm unable to attend a certain day to chose another day she's avalaible during the week. It's a smaller class environment so also enjoy the individual attention she spends working with me.

I love having Alexandra as my art teacher! She gives insightful and careful instructions but at the same time knows how to let her students explore their own style. I definitely recommend her classes!

Alexandra is the best! I started classes with her 2 years ago. Her deep knowledge of art history, techniques, aesthetics and insight have allowed me to see progress with every project. Her classes are enjoyable free-wheeling.

She is able to help you paint whatever you wish...as she is trained classically but her own work in more expressive. She is very patient and only gives help when help is needed.

Alexandra was one of the best teachers I've had to date. She was attentive and worked with the skills I already possessed to hone on my skills. It was always a relaxed and fun environment to work in.

Wonderful teacher, very encouraging, extremely helpful with ideas and with painting technique. Great studio environment to paint in. Classes small and lots of private instruction available from Alexandra. She is very creative and I have learned a great deal about painting.

Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an e-mail exchange first student either comes to the on-going class we select or I meet a student in the studio to discuss options and to make choices between private lessons, personal program and on-going Open Studio System. Which one fits better depends on organization skills, workability, persistence and intelligence.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Fine Art since early age living in the Soviet Union. That included classical training during teenage years. I immigrated to America in 1989 and got my BA in Art from State University of New York and later on MFA from School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.

Later on we will achieve those specific goals, sharing knowledge and skills while providing supportive critique. We follow a private syllabus: create, read, watch movies, see shows and work in the studio. Then meet once or twice a month, critique, analyze, re-make a plan if needed. Time frame varies from student to student, depending on his/her goals. $350 a month
