Introduction: Most web developers out there are just that, web developers. While yes, they know their trade well, they're almost always lacking in good design sense. That's where I differ. I'm a graphic/ web designer first. My background is in graphic design. So the design of your site, and the way users will interact with it, is always what is most important. The design drives the development. Never the other way around. The variety of projects I get to work on and the people I get to meet. I know that might sound cliche, but it always keeps it interesting. Plus it keeps me from getting bored of anything. I'll go from designing a logo, to designing/ developing a website, to working on a scientific illustration all in a week. I've worked with engineers, public speakers, musicians, and hair beauticians. It keeps everything exciting all the time.

I hired Jenn to do a blog redesign and switch to a .com site (from blogger). She completely re-branded my page/company and delivered results within a couple weeks of our first meeting. Jenn was prompt, flexible, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. I loved that she took the time to explain everything to me (in great detail) to make sure that we were truly on the same page. Her work was fantastic, exactly what I wanted, and the feedback from my readers has been nothing but positive. I'm happy that there was such a fast turnaround but sad that I won't be working as closely with Jenn! I would absolutely hire her again and I highly recommend her.

To improve my development skills, you can often find me working through lessons on TeamTreehouse.com. I strongly recommend it to anyone serious about web development.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
While in undergrad at BU, I was originally a music major. I stumbled across Photoshop and Illustrator one day and thought they were the coolest programs. I spent the next 6 months doing nothing but tutorials and learning all I could. The next semester I switched to graphic design and have loved every moment of it.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Website design and development, scientific graphics (diagrams, cover art, etc), identity design (logos, business cards, etc).
