FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I find it more efficient to work by the hour. For bigger jobs though (bathroom remodels, decks, sheds, basements) I will price out the job directly. The more information I have about a project up front; the better I can quote on your project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My experience dates back nearly 30 years. No, I have not been in this industry for that long, but over that period of time I have worked for several construction contractors and even spent some time working in the landscape construction industry. I was an operations manager for a prominent RI company for 14 years, where it was my responsibility to keep the buildings operating-much of the work I did myself. I have also learned many of my skills working alongside some very talented folks building homes with Habitat for Humanity.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been handy. I learned a lot of what I know from my father. I have worked for several contractors throughout the years and I've expanded my skill set working with Habitat for Humanity over the last 15 years.
