When it comes to personal trainers, James Malvesti is beyond compare. I first started training with James eight months ago and I remember our first session clearly. First, James had me engage in several exercises to determine my baseline fitness level. Next, he sat down with me and we intensely discussed my fitness goals. James asked me all of the right questions so that he could 100% individualize my training experience. We discussed how long it would take to reach my goals and James also guided me through proper nutrition. I remember being immediately impressed by the level of attention James was providing me with and his genuine enthusiasm about me being able to reach my goals. The workout routines that James creates are unique, challenging, and take your breath away, literally! I reached the goals for myself that I had shared with James during our first training session and now I am working on a new set of fitness goals with James. With James’ knowledge and passion for fitness, expertise, and positive and encouraging attitude, reaching any goal is possible!

I have known and worked with James for almost two years now and cannot recommend him highly enough. With his help and support, I have not only lost weight and inches, but have gained an invaluable skill in learning how to box—coming from a background in yoga, who knew I had a decent knuckle punch?? I absolutely love it. James provides professional in-home training services where proper form and technique are essential—I am always impressed at how he can be a real stickler for detail while at the same time making his workouts vigorous and challenging. Working in the fitness industry myself, I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of personal trainers over the years—James is the most dedicated, hard-working, and knowledgeable trainer I know.

I worked with James a few years ago. He gave me an organized program and nutrition advice as I achieved my goal. I went from over 300lbs and lost over 90lbs. As of today years later I’ve been able to keep the weight off.

This man will change your future! He changed mine. I love my new body and at age 57 am in better shape than most 30 year olds. James is the real deal in an arena plagued by poorly trained even dangerous "professionals". It is his deep foundational knowledge of physiology and bio-mechanics that kept me safe and injury free. I was happy to be taught exactly how to properly stretch before loading up weight of any significance. His study and understanding of nutrition helped me drop body fat. The personalized A-B workouts changing up every 4-6 weeks added the muscles where I wanted them.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    This varies but it revolves around getting an individual that hasn't exercised recently or is new to it to feeling health, confident, and adopt exercise into their lifestyle. That is the most common although it varies.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Shop around (but definitely include Fit Fx (Fitness Standard) in that shopping)!! If a Personal Trainer shies away from the importance of nutrition and a strategy for mindset they probably aren't a quality trainer (yet). Also you should get the impression that this individual is a "career trainer". Personal Trainers come and go and a lot only do this for a couple years. A trainer should have have considerable experience working with clients to really be considered worth the investment. Everyone is different what motivates them and how they succeed therefore it takes experience to figure out how to approach your properly. I would suggest never asking them that directly, I'd make assumptions from what they described their background as.
