Brian was a pleasure to work with. He was always available by phone or email and was very quick to respond and answer questions. He met with me in person twice to go over specifics and was was able to answer all my questions about the process. What I considered a complicated year for taxes (new jobs, independent contractor/self employed status, newly married) didn't faze him a bit. He went over all of the deductions in a way I could understand and feel comfortable with. I would highly recommend him. Thanks Brian!Apr 24, 2016Verified

Q & A
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I give quotes on tax preparation based on the complexity and timing of the deadline. However, if someone opens an investment account with me in the amount of $50K or more, I include tax preparation with the assets-under-management fee.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?A client can either work in person or remotely. With the dawn of the technological age, I am able to use secure platforms to work remotely with clients throughout the country. For investment planning, I will generally have an initial free consultation to ascertain a background. Then I will do a general overview of my investment management capabilities. For tax preparation services, I will generally look at previous returns and current year documents, then give a price estimate of my services. I will then send the client an engagement letter as well as an invitation to Dropbox so that we can share documents going forward.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Yes, the continuing education requirements in my line of work is extensive. For the CFP certificate for example, the requirement is 25-30 hours a year in continuing education classes.
