Thank you Monica!
Julie is an awesome voice teacher. My 9 yr old daughter has grown to love music very much after taking lessons with Julie. Her voice has become professional and she had gained much confidence to perform solo in many concerts. I am very happy that we found Julie.Jun 18, 2018VerifiedJulie K.'s reply
Thank you so very much, Leena! As you know I believe Advi is quite a talented girl! And you both are a joy to work with!
Julie is a great teacher. Her love of singing and playing guitar is contagious. My daughter enjoys her lessons with Julie and makes great progress with her guitar playing.Feb 2, 2018VerifiedJulie K.'s reply
Vitali, thank you very much for this wonderful review. Your daughter is a joy and a jem to teach! She has much talent and enthusiasm which makes my job easy and fun!
I asked if she does remote lessons and her response - without knowing my schedule or ability to travel to Billerica during the week - was that another student from my area "apparently thinks it's doable". I don't think that was really helpful at all, or appropriate, or professional. I would not take lessons with someone who isn't going to take into consideration that someone might have accessibility issues before giving them a flippant response.Feb 1, 2018VerifiedJulie K.'s reply
Christine- I am so sorry to have offended you. I wish you had let me respond before you made these comments. I only meant to encourage you... not assume anything. There was nothing flippant abut my heart in the matter. Sometimes I hate texts because you can’t hear tone of voice. And there was nothing in my text stream indicating your interest in remote lessons... though I did suggest that as an option. This was a HUGE misunderstanding. I think you will find if you talk to me that I am VERY concerned about my students’ needs and go out of my way to help things to work for their schedules, goals etc. again I am sorry this hit you wrong. I hope after some thought you will reconsider hurting my reputation based on this misunderstanding. Blessings to you.
Julie was very clear and made things sound easy. I did feel a difference quickly.Sep 24, 2017Julie K.'s reply
Thank you very much! I am so glad I made things clear for you- that is always my goal, but sometime it is hard because different student learn differently! Since this was anonymous I have no idea what the circumstances were for you- but I am very happy you are succeeding!

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My payment structure is based on students taking regular weekly lessons and paying monthly. Lessons are $48/hr, $38/ 45 min, $28/ half hour lessons. I give a slight discount for paying by the semester. I also give 5% discount for additional siblings or family members studying with me. Individual or irregular lessons cost $55/ hour. There is a one time registration fee due at the first regular payment. I do charge for trial lessons- but at my reduced rates above. Ask about group rates.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The process for working together is simply this: the student calls me or sends me a text so we can discuss scheduling options for lesson times. Then they come over to my Billerica studio for your first lesson. Most students pay by the month. Every lesson we will do some stretches to wake up the body and loosen up the facial muscles. Then we do some exercises to increase breath control, range control and more. Finally we work on songs to perform at student recitals, school, church or professional opportunities.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I studied at Oberlin Conservatory, got my Bachalor of Music in Vocal performance and arranging from Berklee college of music in Boston where I also studied guitar. I have studied with numerous well known teachers in pop, rock and gospel genres. I continue to enhance my skills with ongoing workshops and training. I have been performing professionally since childhood as a solo or in groups/ bands of all popular genres. I have released 4 CDs currently on sale.
