We used Great Island for our Photographer and Videographer at our wedding ceremony and reception. The events were held on different dates at very different locations and the photographers were flexible enough to attend both! My only complaint was the video, the quality of the film was great, but the sound was poor. This is mostly our fault however, as we held the ceremony next to a river on a windy day. They were able to make the video quickly available for our reception, where it was shown for our guests.

I was on the fence about whether to hire a videographer when we first booked our vendors- I wanted the memories captured on film but I didn't want to add in another $3000+ cost. Our photographer recommended Jamie and we're so glad that she did! Jamie was wonderful to work with from day one! We didn't want someone who would set up lots of lights and equipment and intrude in our day and Jamie was the complete opposite. He worked alone with a couple of cameras, but oh my goodness, he captured so many beautiful (and natural!) moments! Within a month of our wedding, we had a teaser video posted online to share and then we had the whole, 2 hour plus video within 6 weeks. The finished product is amazing- the editing, the music selections, and the overall storyline of the video is perfection. I watched it twice in a row the night we picked it up! We received several copies of the DVD and an unedited version as well with lots of fun bonus footage. Jamie was also very generous about breaking out a couple of extra segments for us to share online with family and friends! To sum up, with Jamie you will get low cost, professional quality work with highly personal service. I would (and actually already have) recommend him to any future bride and groom for their wedding day!

My husband, Brian, and I were hesitant about hiring a wedding videographer in the beginning. We weren't sure what value it would add, since we already had a photographer that we really liked. We decided to just go for it though, and I am SO glad that we did. I talked with my husband last night and we agreed that our film by Andy is by far our favorite thing to come out of our wedding. Andy did an amazing job at capturing the spirit of our day. I gave him a very brief description of the feeling that we were going for, and what we wanted reflected in our video. Andy nailed it. Brian and I wanted our vows to be recorded, and Andy did such a beautiful job of layering our vows with the footage he took. The video flowed so well and followed the timeline of our entire day. He used the music that I walked down the aisle to as the background music - it was such a sweet and sentimental touch. Andy picks up on the important things without needing direction. He got images our photographer didn't even get. He captured the details that I wanted documented, and ones I didn't even think about. He has such an eye for what looks good and flows. Andy worked seamlessly with our photographers. He was in 1 of our wedding photos, and it was because the photographer was capturing him doing his job, as a part of our day. He only asked us to do one specific thing for his shooting, and that was walk down a path one time. Other than that, he worked with whatever shots were naturally taking place, either just in the moment or because our photographers had us doing something. Andy was flexible and never in anyone's way. I know one of my husband's major hesitations with hiring a wedding videographer was that he didn't want cameras in his face all day. He thought that a photographer and videographer would be too much, and he wanted to be fully present and experience the day. We never had any issue with Andy being too in our faces, and yet, he captured everything. I think I will end up pulling out my wedding film by Andy far more often than my wedding photographs. Nothing compares to seeing the movement of the day; Andy's film shows the life of our wedding so much more than a still image can. All of our family and friends raved about his work; it truly reflects our wedding in such a pure way. I am so grateful to Andy for the hard work and creativity he poured into our film.

Chris helped me with a scene for my video reel. He directed it and edited it. He made me feel very comfortable, has a great knowledge of all aspects of film, and is extremely talented. I would highly recommend him for any production.

What makes Shayna a great filmmaker is her ability to empathize and truly have an attachment to people's moments. Anyone can film an event...but it takes someone with a true love and care for people, to capture the moments that matter. She filmed my wedding and when I watch it to this day, I still cry. The music she chose, the little details I would've never thought to mention or capture, she got them. She's one of the most genuine and passionate people I know, with a truly artistic eye. I promise you'll be thrilled with the end result of her work.

If you are looking for a videographer/filmmaker, you can stop looking You want Nola. It was such a pleasure working with Nola on our memorial service (which she jumped into with less than a week's notice). She makes the process easy, she listens, and she is very talented. Nola didn't just film the moment of the event, but the meaning of it. On the day of the service, I barely knew Nola was there. In her highly respectful, quasi-invisible way, she shot four hours of footage and edited it into a professional film we are proud to share for generations to come. Unprompted, Nola ALSO created a 2-minute montage of the service that we cherish. Thank you, Nola!

I directed a film with Jeff as my DP. Worked harder on the set than anyone else. He has a disciplined creativity, practical expertise and infinite patience. He's a poet...and most definitely made me look good. In addition, he's a fine and honest human being and great support and fun company. I look forward to working with him again.

What I enjoy about working with Reggie is the incorporation of ideas with the client, while adding his own expertise to create an awesome visual aesthetic. The fact he is easy to reach in case any new ideas may come about make collaborating with him easy and validates his professionalism and sincerity with every project. Definitely someone you can work with now and in the future. Reggie and I have worked with each other on various projects in interview style format and are currently working on a video. Because of his work ethic, myself and the others part of my projects decided to work with him routinely.

I found Zakk in the nick of time to do the video for our wedding. His videos are exceptionally beautiful, and I knew I struck gold. He was clear, communicative, and really tried to understand the vibe of our wedding and what we were looking for, even on a tight timeline. Zakk arrived promptly at the venue on the day (which was some distance away) and was unobtrusive to the bridal party and the bride/groom while getting the footage he needed. I cannot wait to see his video- as I know it will be just as amazing as the rest of his work! I would definitely recommend Zakk!

About

Taking on a limited number of weddings allows Nathan to concentrate all his expertise and time on each one. Using the latest in technology and equipment to create films of stunning quality, he prefers Canon 7D DSLR cameras, high frequency wireless microphones for clear, crisp sound, and a Glidecam for smooth floating shots. His wedding videos capture a true cinematic look and feel, with unprecedented depth of field and vibrant color. “It’s not just about fancy equipment, though,” says Nathan, “I film a lot of footage…a lot. This allows for more options, resulting in a better finished product.” Using this footage and the ability to “shoot for the edit”—that is, the ability to visualize how a moment will translate into the film as a whole, rather than passively shooting what’s going on—Nathan provides a wedding video like no other.

About

I come to each project with a story first mentality. I ask myself, "Who is the client and what is the most effective way of communicating their idea and vision to the world?" Flashy camera work and special effects are nice, but only if they're supported by the overall vision of the piece. I'm going to talk with you about what you want and provide multiple options for you to choose from that are all specifically tailored to what your trying to do.
