Mark was absolutely terrific . We hired him to DJ a 14th birthday party for my daughter. He made suggestions for games to make the party more fun and was happy to play any songs requested. He was professional and did everything he said he would do. He always responded promptly to emails and stayed in touch throughout the planning. Recommend highly!
Loved that Adam is both a musician and a DJ! He was able to play acoustic for our ceremony and then turn our reception into a party as a DJ. Took the decision of band or DJ completely out of the equation because he is truly the best of both worlds. He was easy to work with about song choice and various other customizations. He also MC'ed our reception and kept everything flowing. Would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a musician and/or DJ.
We feel so very lucky to have Kris's talents available to us. Where else could you find someone who has toured and played with well-known drummers and bands so close to home? Our son has taken his playing to the next level with Kris and learned new skills and gotten familiar with the different styles of drumming. Kris also passes along his extensive technical knowledge so that students learn to maintain their sets themselves. Besides being a true professional, Kris is a wonderful person whose teaching style and over-all personality makes learning from him both fun and enjoyable. He loves what he does and it shows!
I'm an adult student. David has been working with me since 2009. He's amazing. He has me playing songs I never thought I'd be able to play. He has a real knack for getting to the heart of the matter when it comes to musical expression on the guitar. He's great. Hire him!
Brandy did a great job performing at my wedding. I received so many compliments from my guests about them. They heeded all of my requests ranging from song selection to sound volume and vocal style. Perhaps the biggest testament to their performance was the sight of my 4 year old nephew rocking out to the band's music, despite never having expressed any dance inclination previously. It was an astounding revelation, even to his parents.
In my role at Berklee College of Music, I see/hear a lot of music. I happened to check out The New Review this week -- this band is the straight-up, no B.S., *real deal,* hands down. Nine-piece mad-tight band. Great musicians and excellent vocalists making a completely fun atmosphere. Nothing at all against DJs, but there's something hella-special about singers and players who love what they're doing to make your body move, and this band does it like few others. They packed the place, and even people with too little room to dance couldn't help bopping their heads. If you're looking for a band that feels the joy of playing and gives it to a whole crowd, The New Review is it. Absolutely "pure funk, uncut funk, the bomb."
I literally have no words on how amazing this band is! It was a lucky last minute hire and we totally slacked on getting our homework to them on time but they pulled it out! So nice and responsive. With our lack of direction on how to have the reception flow Paul guided us through and it was great! My guests commented a week later to say they had finally recovered from all the dancing! From my 'I need to hear one u2 song one Elton john song and one Bryan Adams song' managed to play during their break a playlist with them on it including my favorite U2 song! Seriously hire them. Like amazing. I want to have a party with them at it every year. All we could ask for and more
After taking piano lessons from a traditional piano teacher for 6 years, I needed a change. Steve was the perfect choice. He played at a local piano bar at the time, and I wanted to hone my skills so I could play in bands, too. I assumed he would teach me the ins and outs of chords and then send me off to conquer the music scene, but it turned out he had a real mastery of musical theory, and he held it to a very high importance. He began each of our lessons with music theory - all the basics that make a solid foundation for any musician. Then, he introduced a new concept to something I had been doing all along. He gave me sheet music to learn - tough teaching songs - then after a time, began blocking my view of my hands with paper while playing. Eventually, he'd block my hands and take away the music, teaching me a very important part of playing anything in front of people. You have to know the music inside and out. You can't rely on the sheets in front of you. That's the only way you can truly immerse yourself in the song and let your fingers do the playing. His fees were reasonable and the time was very well-spent. You have to do the work between lessons to get the most out of them. Steve has a true mastery of live performance on every level, and it would behoove any musician, young or old, beginner or skilled, to spend a year in his teaching. We can all benefit from it. I certainly did. I've been in various bands, ever since, and I haven't looked back except to remember who helped me get here.
Easy, quick, I hired a band using this service.
As a composer, collaborating with Dennis Shafer continues to be a great opportunity to work with an incredibly well-rounded, sophisticated, and poetic musician. After soliciting my musical intentions, such an impeccably pictorial and wonderfully sincere performance of my music could only have arisen from someone so wholly invested not only in his craft, but in a greater concept of what music can mean. I am eager to be again composing music for Dennis to perform. In the spirit of his teaching philosophy, hes opened my eyes to the thrill of collaborative work. Composers can be recluses, and I needed that eye-opener. His availability, willingness, and capacity to clarify the challenges of writing well for the saxophone makes me a better composer. A chance to work or study with Dennis in any capacity should not be passed up. He is a renaissance man and a worldbeater.
Dave Hines is an excellent, talented musician. I have had the opportunity to hear him on several occasions, and he has also played for me. He is the consummate professional, an accomplished musician, with an extensive repertoire. Ether as a solo musician or, with a band, Dave Hines will not disappoint!
I loved everything about having Loving Cup as the band for my wedding. Working with Colleen was such a pleasure. I am not a very organized person and she took care of everything. I felt like every little detail was completely taken care of. Details I would never even of thought of. I felt completely at ease with Colleen taking care of everything. My wedding even started super late and many guests don't even remember it not starting on time because the band handled everything so well and everything transitioned so smoothly. She really understood my husband and myself, what we liked, and our style. The music was perfect! We loved our wedding but the highlight for us and our guests was Loving Cup. A year later people still talk about the music at our wedding and that it was still the best wedding they have been to, primarily because of the music. I look forward to the day I have an event that warrants me hiring a band again. I would hire Loving Cup again and again. There is not a better band out there to hire for your event because they are extremely talented, sound amazingly great, are super organized, and completely care about making your experience what you have hoped it to be.
I have seen this band many times and they are just great. Great musicians and Keturahs voice is just one of the best around. Very professional and they have a lot of fun entertaining. You won't be disappointed with this band!
Awesome! Friendly group of guys that fit in well with our family. The atmosphere they helped create was warm, laid back, and fun.

Wed love to provide fun music for your wedding celebration! We have been fortunate enough to play live, acoustic music (bluegrass, swing, roots music, old time) at numerous weddings throughout New England since 2006. In regards to music for the big day, we have found that the following formula works well for most folks: * Half an hour of mellow acoustic seating music prior to ceremony Processional and postlude (MP3 samples are here on our website) * 45 minutes of acoustic music amongst your guests during the cocktail reception * Fun dancing music after dinner for the reception You can use our PA for toasts and announcements. We also encourage folks to make an iPod mix of music to play during dinner, and fun dancing after we perform. (You and your friends might also love Prince of Hip Hop, or have some special songs youd like to dance for another 30-45 minutes before the night ends!) Wed be happy to answer any questions you may have, and we provide a cost estimate. We typically book/quote events six to eight months in advance, so if you would like to secure your date, please get in touch! Also, please visit our web pages with wedding ideas specifically for Boston, on the Cape and the North Shore.

Transcending the boundaries of genre, Insigniya has hit the ground running since the bands start in January 2009. Taking influence from a vast range of musicians, Insigniya has been breaking down barriers in creating original music that cannot be classified simply as jazz, rock, or funk. Insigniya is centered on the concept of channeling a special energy through an audience, creating a feeling of freedom and self empowerment, while giving people sounds to bob their heads and move their bodies to. This energy is found full force at shows, and getting it recorded is the ultimate goal when the band is in the studio. With a constantly growing loyal fan base, Insigniya is attracting more and more people to shows, each providing a senses-saturating experience full of high energy. In their third year, the band is unleashing their unique electro-funk-jazz sonic explorations throughout the northeast, having performed at venues, such as The Middle East Downstairs (Boston), Nectar's (Burlington, VT), Sullivan Hall (NYC), and Cafe Campus (Montreal, QC). In Summer 2011, the group made their debut on the festival circuit, performing at festivals, such as StrangeCreek & Wormtown (MA), Disc Jam (MA), Camp Coldbrook (MA), The Big Up (NY), Liberate (VT), Bella Terra (NY), Evolvefest (NJ), Heads In Harmony (ME), Magnetic Gathering (NH), and Lesphestival (NY). Insigniya is ever-increasingly devoted to creating a unique music that pushes the envelope in all genres, while sharing a collective love for music, positive progression, and good times with the masses.
