Anita was tremendous. She was timely, organized, calm, kind, capable, and versatile. She responded gently to the differing needs of our diverse group and led us skillfully with easy directions thru multiple poses and some breath work. On a recent day, we found ourselves in need of a yoga teacher and despite her own unavailability, Anita found a teacher for us! I learned about this dojo through great reviews on Thumbtack. They were a non-profit, martial arts school that offered training in various martial arts, in an authentic atmosphere and a sincere sense of community. This is what got me interested, and I came for a free trial. The positive reviews were true but someone interested in martial arts should come here and experience for themselves to understand the sincerity of this place.I was treated with politeness and respect, and had an amazing first time learning experience. When you step in and spend time there you see why it is a dojo and not a gym from the way students and coaches interact, practices in the dojo to the friendly community they have there. Our Sense Mr. Werth was patient, calm and friendly, even in one class and a couple of conversations I had with him was enough for me to see the dedication he has to this place and the teachings of martial arts and its philosophy as a way of life.This place is like their home where people show respect and care for each other which is something I appreciated.They do not only have self defense classes but meditation and after school care for children, it seems like a place that cares for their students as a whole, contributing to their lives not just on a physical level.I have signed up for more classes and I am looking forward to better myself in every aspect thisbdojo has to offer. I recommend this place to anyone interested in Martial arts or anyone looking for a community to be a part of or bettering themselves to a more peaceful, self disciplined individual. Cheryl is an exceptional teacher who loves what she does. Her classes are always interesting, varied, and paced so students get results. I have had many yoga teachers. By far, Cheryl is the best trainer and educator I have had. She takes the time to explain what the breath and forms do for the body and why we should do them not just how. She is attentive to the wide range of strengths and challenges of each student and protects us from ourselves, reminding us not to push for 100% of each pose. When I started with Cheryl two years ago, I had a very bad back and very tight muscles. My strength, flexibility, and balance are vastly improved. I am very loyal to her classes because they are the reason for my improved well-being.
Angela was great, I have been going to see her for a couple months now. She has been showing me how to meditate and try to slow my mind down so that we can clear away the negative energy surrounding me. She makes me feel comfortable, at ease and I always leave in a much more calmer state of mind than when I got there. I am crossing my fingers that I continue to get what I was looking for when I first came in to see her.
Lacy instructs each class with mindfulness and care for each student. She provides more than just exercise, she leads you through an experience of your whole being of body, mind, and spirit. Her guidance is clearly articulated and she provides options whether she sees a student who could modify they posture or challenge themselves further. She is a beautiful soul and radiates that into her teaching.
Mach Evolution is amazing! Their personal training is top notch, and their yoga classes are so great! I have also done meditation classes with Mike and they are life changing! I recommend Mach Evolution to anyone who wants to improve their well being!
Chavi is an amazing meditation teacher and a divine human being. I attended her first meditation class in Cambridge and immediately knew that she was the real deal. Over the course of the next year or so my meditation practice grew and blossomed in such deep and beautiful ways I couldn't even have imagined. Chavi's gentle meditation guidance and discussions after meditation are very helpful and help bring a deeper level of understanding. I moved South for work and miss her very much. I still use her meditation techniques and am so grateful for her.
Cathy is an incredible yoga teacher! She remembers everyone's trouble areas/weaknesses and accommodates all levels of yoga. You will feel comfortable in class and amazing during and after! I highly recommend this studio regardless of how familiar you are with yoga :)
I've practiced with Tim at the Broga studio in Somerville and attended a retreat where he held guided meditations. His classes were consistently amazing. The right blend of functional fitness and traditional yoga. He watches his students and makes the proper adjustments when needed and helps tailor the class for his students. He's starting a new morning class and I will actually rearrange my work schedule just to be able to catch that class.
Kate is one of my most favorite yoga teachers!!! She has such a calming presence and is always interested in what your body needs to best tailor her classes so you can leave feeling more balanced, limber and fit. I love her hands on adjustments to help give you the best stretch and feeling in each pose and her head and shoulder massage in savasana is the best!! Highly recommend her classes.
Sifu Nicanor is unmatched in the Sea Coast area and beyond for skill in Tai Chi. He teaches an ancient form of Tai Chi that incorporates Qi Gong, so you are developing both skills. Whether you are looking to learn it as a martial art form, as a physical meditation, to better your inner balance and center, loosen your joints, create better health for yourself; he is the real deal.
The yoga lessons with Sara were very helpful for improving yoga poses and for better general daily movement. She teaches with an understanding of how the poses can be done naturally and safely; and in a way that maximizes the benefits and minimizes the risks.

I was very fortunate to hear about Steve from my yoga teacher. Steve is a true healer. I came to him with back discomfort and emotional pain. I came out of his office feeling light as a snowflake, physically and spiritually. This session has given me a burst of energy I needed to get over a difficult moment in life. Ever since Steve helped me, I've felt more aware of imbalances in my posture. I feel a muscle relieve and a calmer breath when I just remember his healing touch.
