Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I feel that my job is not simply "to teach music" - I learn just as much from my students as they learn from me. I enjoy discovering how each student processes information, and I use a wide variety of teaching techniques to help my students. I am completely invested in YOU as a PERSON above anything else. Music is my talent as well as the tool that I use to teach you about musical performance and practice. Together, with my experience and enthusiasm, and your hard work, you will become a confident and proficient musician! I have 10 years of teaching experience in a variety of settings including elementary, middle and high schools, and private instruction. My students have ranged from age 5 - 70 and included bilingual students (Spanish-speaking) and students with learning disabilities.

I hired Stephanie to work with me at Lynn Middle School as a woodwind technician for one semester, Spring 2012. Stephanie was always punctual, organized, and outstanding with the kids. She immediately set up a fun and safe environment for them to learn. Her work was excellent. We were preparing for our district Music Performance Assessment Festival and received Superior ratings. I have no doubt we owe part of that rating to her hard work. She really goes above and beyond, on one occasion I had to miss my afternoon classes for jury duty and she ran rehearsal without any problems. I wish we still had Stephanie in our district. I highly recommend her.

Stephanie has been a great saxophone teacher to work with. She pays very close attention to musical details and always knows what I can improve in my playing. She is always on time for my classes and she is able to offer lots of musical insight. She is also kind and patient with her students.

She is very involved with etching her students. For beginners especially, she helps immensely with mastering the basics.

FAQs

I am currently studying at one of the finest musical institutions in the world. I am a Masters student at The New England Conservatory of Music, with a degree focus in Saxophone Music Performance.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

As a teaching artist, you could say I am a "jack of all trades." I started giving my first private lessons when I was 16 in flute, clarinet and saxophone. Since then, I have gained 10 years of teaching experience in a variety of settings. I currently teach beginner to intermediate piano and flute lessons and all levels of saxophone. I have taught in public school classrooms - given instruction in general music education to elementary aged children, teaching jazz band in middle and high schools, and also served as a private woodwind instructor for middle and high school band programs.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently returned from a trip in Strasbourg, France where I performed with my saxophone quartet at the SaxOpen - World Saxophone Congress. It was my first time traveling out of the country and performing on an international stage!
