FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons: $50/30min, $60/45min, $70/hour weddings and other performances: $70-$250 (depending on distance)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Payments are taken at the beginning of every month in advance. There are no refunds for last minute cancellations. At this time, I am only offering remote lessons over Skype, Facetime or Google Hangouts. I strongly encourage parents of younger students to sit in on lessons so that they can help during practice time at home.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Hello! My name is Rebecca Nelson and I am a classically trained violinist with a love for music of many genres. I was born into a family of musicians in Gera, Germany and started playing the violin when I was 4 years old. I left Germany when I was 14 to attend the Interlochen Arts Academy for four years, which lead me to Houston, where I received my Bachelor of Music Performance at Rice University. I went on to my earn my first Masters from the University of Oklahoma where I studied under noted pedagog, Hal Grossman. The majority of my own training had been under the Galamian school, and I studied and utilized other violin teaching methods in the course of my Masters education (etudes, Carl Flesch, etc.). After Oklahoma I moved to Boston and fell in love with Baroque music. I performed all over New England with several Period Ensembles and eventually decided to get another Masters Degree for Historical Performance at The Juilliard School where I received my diploma in May 2020.
