I just started going to Nancy and so far so GREAT! I'll leave another review in a month once I have some results, but so far she has been so great with talking and working with me, I feel the burn, I needed a personal trainer bad!!
Doug is extremely knowledgeable about developing a safe and personalized physical training program thorough a thorough assessment of both your goals and physical conditioning needs. His service is comprehensive, supportive, and provides a genuine feeling of a partnership to get you to your goal of improved health! The service Doug offer's is outstanding and you will be challenged to find anything close to what he will provide. If your desire to safely achieve your goal of health and fitness and are looking for an exceptionally knowledgeable, competent personal trainer who will work with you one-to-one, partnering with you in preventative health and clearly loves what he does, please give Doug a try.....you will not be disappointed!!
Lou is fun, friendly, caring, and fair. He loves his job and is not just a personal trainer but a nutritionist which is super helpful. Even with one 1 hour workout a week with him I see results, which is hard to believe but true! He is helping me gain muscle. I love that he is conscious of the type of supplements he recommends and he is an advocate of natural eating, unlike many trainers out there who recommend terrible harsh products. He is encouraging, reasonable, and pushes me to the right extant, and is careful to avoid injury. Lou fosters healthy body image.. He asked what my goals are and is quick to respond to emails, texts and other communication. He has a flexible schedule and will work with the client's busy schedule to schedule sessions. He is a good guy... I certainly recommend him to anyone.
There are not enough words to explain how happy I am to have found Sean as my personal trainer at Always Strength Fitness. I have been working with him for ~ 4 months (3X a week for 30-60 min sessions) and I don't plan on stopping (unless Sean or I leave Boston :)) I found Sean on Thumbtack (after dealing with a few terrible Thumbtack trainer) and decided to "hire" him & continue our sessions for a number of reasons: 1) Sean has an Incredible Work Ethic and is an All Around Nice Guy- Sean is fully present during our sessions (not on his cell phone or taking selfies or multi-tasking). It helps me be accountable for showing up 100% during each session so I get THE MOST out of each and every workout. 2) Deeply Knowledgeable about Fitness, how the body works/functions, dealing with previous ailments & injuries, mind-body connection, etc - I had two injuries that I was working through and serious muscle imbalances that were getting in the way of being able to advance my strength training progress. Due to our workouts, I have consistently gotten stronger mentally & physically on all levels. Every day activities like carrying my 40 lbs son down a hallway with two giant bags of groceries to doubling the # of Harvard stadium steps in 30 min vs. when I first started working with Sean-- all have seen drastic improvements (night & day) in my endurance and strength. My body is no longer breaking down because Sean is helping me regain strength where I need it, building up strength where I can, and guiding me step-by-step to be even stronger. 3) The coolest part about our workouts is how strong mentally I've grown through our sessions, which has benefits for me in all aspects of my life. When I started working with Sean, I was super insecure about my "lack of fitness, strength, and ability"-- I was never an athlete or active as a kid. Every time I work with Sean and start a new workout, I swear on my life, before the reps, that there is absolutely no way I can complete the workout that he has laid out for me. But somehow with his guidance, positive reinforcement, and million-dollar smile, I do-- even with more reps, more weight, more difficulty, etc. I find myself mentally becoming stronger with each work out and being able to apply that new mental strength to everyday stresses and challenges at work and life. 3) Convenient location & logistics - Always Strength Fitness is conveniently located in Brighton/Allston with covered parking. They have all the equipment and tools to give you a comprehensive workout, regardless of your goals. Finding a time to train with Sean was easy and he's pretty easy to get a hold of and coordinate logistics, etc week to week, which I appreciate. There are definitely so many other reasons why you should work with Always Strength Fitness-- the ones I listed above are unique to what I was looking for, which I 100% found in working with Sean. If you have other goals that maybe I didn't list in my review, I am pretty sure Sean or any of the trainers with Always Strength Fitness will find a way to help you reach them without a sweat.
Ryan offerred a free trial, which I think is fabulous. Not only did the trial include a 1-hour full-body workout (with his personal attention the entire time), Ryan also spent a full 2 hours discussing his workout program, nutrition, calculated % body fat and how his program would meet my fitness goals. This is way more than I expected for a free trial session! I signed up and am really looking forward to working with Ryan, who is very personable & motivating in a very encouraging way. Besides the workout, clients will email Ryan their food log & get feedback. The price cannot be beat for this type of dedicated personal trainer! I highly recommend Ryan's services.
I met Sue over two years ago and sat and discussed my overall goals as far as fitness and where I wanted to be. I have crushed those goals and much more. In the past year I have accomplished so many things I never imaged, running competitively, benching over 100lb, squatting more than my weight, etc. I think Sue's energy is great and believe she picked the right career move because she is a great personal trainer.
Cara is great about tailoring workouts and nutrition plans based on your specific needs, injuries, goals, etc. always flexible with her schedule and produces results!
Jenny was very flexible with scheduling and easy to work with. The massage was great and we would recommend Jenny to anyone looking for a good massage therapist.
I highly recommend Marlen Caduff as a therapeutic massage therapist. She has studied a variety of massage techniques in Switzerland, the U.S., and Thailand. She owned her own business, Swiss Spirit Massage, in Tampa, FL, where I had regular massage with her over the course of 7 years. Marlen mainly gave me deep tissue massage, thai massage, and lymphatic massage. Specifically, Marlen has treated me for lymphedema which I got from breast cancer treatment almost ten years ago. She enabled me to minimize and control the swelling problem in my arm while allowing me to do various endurance and cardio sports that I loved. I participated in endurance walking for 4 years and dragon boat paddling/racing for another 4 years. Marlen kept my body in excellent shape and feeling good even while I was out walking up to 20 miles in a day or paddling 9 miles or so in a race. I'm in my late 50's now, and my body feels great. I've been able to fix issues immediately through massage with Marlen that would probably have become very problematic if left untended. Marlen definitely made me a believer as far as the healing effect of massage. Marlen is also a real professional and very organized and punctual. On top of that, she is a very kind, warm-hearted, open-minded person who really cares about her clients and their well-being. In addition to massage, Marlen also is very interested in cooking and nutrition, and I lost about 20 pounds by following a nutritional program she offered. I'm very grateful to have crossed paths with Marlen during her time in Tampa, and I have benefitted a lot from her knowledge and skill. Connie B. Retired Verizon Marketing Manager
I decided to meet with June House for nutritional counseling to learn how to decrease my fatigue, heartburn, muscle pain and sleep problems associated with CFS. June helped me stop mono eating and add food to my diet rich in vitamins, anti oxidants and minerals. To my surprise the diet change improved my sleep. This better sleep resulted in more energy and less muscle pain Included in Junes suggestions were vegetables with certain minerals, calcium and magnesium, I have lactose intolerance and was relying too heavily on calcium tablets, which bothered my stomach. Through June's focused questions and our discussions she helped me to see some food issues from growing up that related to my food choices. She also helped me to see I needed to slow down (chew my food, not gulp it) and nourish myself on many levels in my life. With this unique lifestyle perspective she helped me reduce and manage many symptoms. I feel more confidants in using the knowledge Ive learned from working with June. My health continues to improve. What June brings to the plate is an understanding of many dietary systems, how food relates to a persons whole life and her desire to help you learn to cook recipes that are delicious, nutrient rich and individualized to your needs. I highly recommend scheduling a consultation with June to anyone who wants to improve his or her health through a whole person centered approach to diet. Liza- artist Massachusetts
Erin is without a doubt one of the most concentrated and dedicated nutrition/wellness coaches I have ever had the pleasure of working with. It is obvious from her continued commitment to research and education that she has placed herself into a position to make herself time and time again a valuable contributor and leader in the wellness field. As a former athlete and busy professional, I asked Erin to put together a meal plan for me that would allow me to maintain a high protein diet, support my active lifestyle and also not yield a long preparation time. Erin was able to implement a meal plan and diet schedule that not only met, but exceeded my expectations. The information and structure she provided for me allowed me to adjust my diet without demanding a large alteration in my lifestyle. With her personalized understanding and application of my needs, and the experience I had with Erin, I would readily and highly suggest her to anyone looking for a motivation and committed wellness trainer.
Renee is the best! If you want a personal trainer that truly cares about your health and well being use Renee. She is a professional athlete, personal trainer, massage therapist and esthetician. You can tell that she loves what she does and truly enjoys helping people become the best they can be! I had a tremendous 6 months with Renee as she transformed my body from chunky to lean, If not for Renee. I'd still be living an unhealthy lifestyle. Use this girl!!
First I want to start off by saying thank you so much Francesa. This was my first time hiring a chef and using this website. I tried to book her since Monday but I was terriable with communication. I finally reached her Thursday via phone which was the day I actually needed her. I was also at work and only could talk for a few minutes. I quickly expressed how much I wanted to surprise my mom and quickly told her my moms favorite food. Believe it or not she was available and took on the job. I also texted her during the day just to make sure it wasn't a scam. She was great she kept reassuring me everything will be perfect. Francesa arrived on time and immediately starting cooking. She was quite in the kitchen and didn't bother anyone she brought her own ingredients and also left the remaining ingredients for me to use at a later time. Dinner was perfect she also simg to my mom (bless her beautiful voice) and CLEANED!!! job well done I will book again
Debbie has been my personal trainer for only a few months. She is just what I was looking for in a trainer. She is tough but compassionate. My training is a bit on the difficult side, as I have arthritis. I wanted a workout that would help strengthen my muscles without aggravating my joints. Debbie took the time to ask me many questions that would develop a workout routine that works. Not only do I get the proper workout routines, I receive important nutrition information that benefits me as well. I recommend her without reservation!
Been working with Andy for 15 years. He's a very knowledgeable trainer who takes a truly comprehensive view of your health and fitness needs and goals. It really is "designer" fitness in the sense that he genuinely tailors each workout for you. He's also a great, understanding guy, a good friend and a quality human being. And I mean every word of that. Personal training is not cheap but it is one of the best things you could ever spend money on to improve and maintain your long-term health and well-being. I say go for it.
