Andres Alejo's, Piano Lessons
About this pro
I am a musical theatre actor, and when I started lessons with Andrés, my goal was to be able to plunk out the notes of songs as I prepare for auditions. Andrés's thorough and engaging teaching totally exceeded my expectations! I am now able to accompany myself by playing chords as I prepare for auditions. His approach is thoughtful, and he really catered to my specific needs so that I left every lesson feeling like I was one step closer to my goal. I highly recommend his teaching to anyone looking to learn or strengthen their piano skills!Aug 10, 2017
I have truly enjoyed taking lessons with Andres. He is an excellent teacher giving me a variety of ways to practice that enabled me to learn the pieces well without any stumbles. He also has been able to breach me techniques to improve the quality and musicality of my playing.Mar 18, 2016
Andres was patient yet expected a lot from me as one of his students. I felt that he was very knowledgeable and also knew how to communicate ideas very effectively to me. He pushed me while always maintaining a professional and safe environment. As a musician myself, I feel that I gained great knowledge, technique, and skill from learning with Andres.Aug 9, 2014

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge 4 lessons in advance. This guarantees consistency in the lessons, as students tend to cancel less for what they've already paid for, which ultimately leads to better results.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We begin the first 4 weeks with understanding the basic of body awareness, music theory and the ins and outs of piano playing. In this first month the goal is to establish basic understanding of both practice and playing that will successfully aid the student in playing the instrument free of tension.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Bachelors and masters degree in music as well as 3 pedagogy training programs at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Carnegie Mellon and ICA
